5th wheel jaw not staying open.

    Yeah. All the parts where it could be built up behind the jaw are not accessible by scraper. I’ll do what I can though

    Theres gap in that picture. Mine was pushing out grease from the sides, couldn’t keep it on there. As I understand, they wear on the sides, if poorly maintained.

    I had a front to back slip - thought it was driveline until I’d eliminated all other possibilities.

    Do you have trouble keeping grease on it?

    look at the video at the 48 second mark.
    If it is a Holland FW 17 as i suspect you can see where they put the tag with the serial number.

    No. It’s way too greasy as it is. I use a little lucas 5th wheel lube whenever a hook a new trailer.

    I don’t have a lift. I did see a stretched spring attached to the jaw. That might be the problem.
