Why is there so much BS in the world?
I called this place that says you can make $6,000 to $7,000 a week.
First I got voicemail which is always a red flag to me because regular trucking companies answer their phone. So when I hung up in a few minutes the person called me back, with a very very thick heavy accent from I don't know where.
He seemed to be disappointed when I told him I had my own authority. He then told me that I would have to book the loads under my own authority and pay him $500 a week.
When I said $500 a week sounds like a lot of money he had no answer for that the phone basically went dead. So I said what kind of Revenue are we talking about that you want $500 a week? He said $6,000 to $7,000 a week and you will be home every single night.
So I said you want me to pay you $500 a week guaranteed every week right? He said yes. So I said well what kind of guarantee are you going to give me that I'm going to make the income you are telling me?
He hung up on me and would not answer the phone when I called back, LOL
I was just going to torture him a little more...
Sometimes you just gotta laugh at the silliness.

Easy Peasy. -
Would it not be a good deal ? Things like that are never real.
I'd ask him where he was going to get his loads from. If load boards, then he is more likely than not, quite a scam.D.Tibbitt, PE_T and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
On a serious note, there is a small chance that they are fronting for illegal work.
If you had not bothered to ask many questions, or had names or phrases to give that he recognized, you might well have been moving cargo making that sort of money.
Depending on where you live, that cargo might have been drugs, illegal aliens, or any number of other things.
If I were you, I would drop a line to ICE and the DEA and give them the phone number you called, and the same details you provided to us.
Let the law know about it, but then drop it like a hot rock.Puppage Thanks this. -
Sounds like a scam dispatching service of which there are thousands out there. When I first got my authority, I found one that gave a free week trial to see how it worked. I gave them $200 and waited for the magic to happen. On the 4th day of not receiving a call, I called them and asked where all of the loads were that they promised. Then he mentioned a few loads that I had seen on the DAT board, and he was offering them to me for less than I saw them posted, so he was double brokering. Sent them an email a few minutes later terminating our agreement, and I'll just consider my $200 loss as a lesson learned.

Soon as I would have heard the accent the phone would have gotten hung up.

EuropeanTrucker, D.Tibbitt, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
anyone asking me for money to get jobs for me, I reply with a get me the job and I’ll pay you not the other way around.
soon as the money leaves your pocket you are no longer in control of the situation, as long as the money stays in your pocket they are dependent on you making them work for you.
simple business rule. Pay when the job is done not before the job is done. -
I know one dispatch service that offers free 1 or 2 weeks trial before they charge you money . I was eager to try them but been lazy holidays etc ..also need 3rd trailer , but they seemed legit , i asked for sample loads and they did email me last month of loads of the other drivers ...after they charge either 4 or 5 % from gross , yes Jon they are overseas and they speak with accent but so far they are the ones loosing if you didn't pay they after they loaded you ... I pay my dispatch once a month ... So whos loosing here !?
Cabinover101 Thanks this. -
