So your solution to government over regulation that was begat by previous overreach is yet more governement overreach that is going to have some pretty nasty economic implications?.....i should be appaled but honestly im not even suprised people like you who cant see past "buhh buhh buhhh da government said so!" Cant see how bad the first rule is and how letting them run wild is going to be like setting off a bomb industry and ecnonomy wise.
Just to play devils advocate here, and NOT that I think more government regulations are good, if the mandatory hourly pay schedule was attached to the speed limiter mandate I suspect that the megas would suddenly change their tune in regard to support of a speed limiter regulation. And therefore perhaps it would not be implemented, which would result in less regulation. I know, that's a stretch too far to imagine.
I think they would just find a way to exempt themselves from paying overtime and from any minimum wage laws.
I got a message on the Qualcomm about a month ago that some jurisdictions or regulators are looking at how to use AI to review all the billions of hours of camera footage along roadways to detect drivers with phones in their hands so they can issue tickets for that. Of course, there was no indication that the company opposed that sort of thing.
Unless they use elogs to verify speeding or radar guns , the old way they used in Ontario is invalid (EZTAP) . Ooida was about to win a huge case representing a driver that showed it wasn’t accurate so Ontario dropped the charges and told their inspectors not to ticket anyone using that device . Now they only ticket when a driver hits 115 km/hr roughly 71 mph due to the way the law was written. TBH it’s way less frustrating when I drive in Ontario now that drivers don’t speed up to 105 when you’re passing them.. If Canada had guns like the USA does the death rate from that crap would’ve skyrocketed.
Oh, good, i knew SOMEONE would think of what i said eventually, at least im not the one that spoke it into existence
