7 dead from DWI trucker yesterday

Sad situation..

 

That is so sad. Some drivers act like they're entitled though. Like the time I was in South Atlanta area waiting in line for the guard shack scale so they could get my mt weight(ya, one of those loads). Had to come in and go down a ways and make a big turn to get in the line for the scale. A driver came in behind me, I had already turned and was in line, and he cuts his turn way too short and front of his cab bumped my trailer. He comes out yelling and cussing, saying that I backed up into him. Two drivers in front of me come back and said no he didn't move. Guard called the cops per company policy, and when they got there and opened his door, some mt beer cans came falling out. So they take him in for DUI, give me a victim pamphlet. Three months later I get a letter from the court down there wanting me to show up as a witness as he was claiming innocence and was fighting to keep his license. Fortunately the other two drivers gave me their contact info and got ahold of them and they either spoke with the court or wrote statements down the court sent me another letter saying that the witnesses at the scene was all they needed (I couldn't have showed up anyways was still on a four week on the road before I could ask for home time) and the court Said that he was gonna lose his license. I surely hope so. Shudder to think if he hadn't crashed into me he could've gotten loaded and would've been out on the interstate. Maybe I accidently saved some lives that night.

 

Just be glad it was your trailer he hit and not you or someone else
