Also look for some BC powder and learn broken English. You'll need it out here especially if you pull a reefer

I know someone mentioned not to rely on Google Maps, and I get what he's saying, but OP please get google maps for your phone. It's a game changer and I'll tell you why.

You can use satellite view or even street view on google maps and see the entrances and/or exits for shippers and receivers. I can't tell you how valuable Google Maps satellite and street view are.

Google maps is also a highly interactive map that blows paper maps out of the water. What another poster said earlier is absolutely correct, to use your atlas. And I do. Many times I'll use a combination of google maps and my atlas and then write down the directions off the interstate on a piece of sticky note paper.

Google maps is also fine for the interstates 99% of the time. Yeah there's exceptions like it'll always route you into downtown Atlanta instead of routing you on the 285 outer loops, but just know those exceptions ahead of time and you'll be good.

Yes again, don't rely 100% on google maps, but dear God that street and satellite views have saved my ### more than once dealing with new shippers and receivers in tight spaces!

i've been out in the oil field for the last 4 years, i'm glad i'm not the only one looking to go back otr, i'm nervous as heck, and it makes me angry that I am. I dont remember feeling this nervous when I started trucking.
hope you find something, i'm looking for a good flatbed company myself. local has become to redundant. same thing every day.
