right on your short haul big pay I get you. Run a few hundred miles a day and your golden. Totally get you so $150-200 isn’t going to cut a deep hole in your pockets can still comes out to about 6-9k a year. Good for 1 vacation. Either way if your happy I’m happy.

just the laws of physics says you can save more fuel driving slower that’s the certain part, unless your rig isn’t geared for that. Then I can understand it.

    shift on driver.

I'm also running a 97 w9 with an e model cat running as close to 90k lbs as I can get it. Summertime I'll get a good 6 as long as it's not too windy.

I don't waste my time even thinking about loads under 2 bucks a loaded mile.

That's just it. "About 5" means you don't track it and pay detailed attention. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these guys claiming you will save thousands by slowing down. However I do think everyone should be tracking their fuel consumption and taking notes. I do it just because seeing an unexplained increase in fuel mileage can help you catch a mechanical issue before it becomes a major problem. I want to catch that fuel injector that's acting up before it turns into a bad miss and I got to change it in a truck stop parking lot.

I check it every fill up, I don't bother with anything other than a whole number, 4.4 is 4 mpg 4.5 is 5.

Driving a slow hog is dangerous.
Always running the granny lane with idiots that can't merge.
Better to have the speed and not use it rather than need the speed and not have it.
