Some ELDs don't calculate correctly, I have found. Actually, I've heard that about some people involved in enforcement, too, but that's another discussion that's been aired far too much, as from as I'm concerned.

You can do 2/8 or 8/2 or 8/8. I do splits all the time and usually keep my driving time to around 4-6 hours never even approaching that 8 hour mark where a 30 minute break would be required. Since the 2 and 8 meet and exceed the 30 minute break, over a 3 day haul I can save 1.5 hours off those 30 minute breaks.

True, but that way would take you 46 hours to drive 22. You could drive 22 in 43 by doing 30 minute breaks and driving your full 11. So while you claim you are saving an hour and a half over 3 periods, you're actually losing 3 hours over 2 days.

However, I would argue that your way is easier and less stressful if you are capable of swapping sleep schedules easily and have plenty of time on a load.

Ignore my last post.... I thought you meant you drove 4-6 then slept 8 everytime..... I was half asleep. You are correct, 4-6 driving, 8 SB, 4-6 driving, 2 off, 4-6 D, 8 SB, so on and so on is faster and helps maintain a constant schedule.
