A couple old friends of ours used to run lumber out of a place in north Louisiana in the 70’s. Because of the near impossible layout to back up to the place. They had to be loaded from the front of the trailers. So they had to pull head in and then 90 it up to a dock with the glad hands just missing it.
90 degree alleydock and 45 degree alleydock

In high school I failed Trigonometry becuase I couldnt see a reason to why ibwould need to figure out triangles and circles... Once I got into college in machine shop trigonometry, it all clicked and made sense... Because it wasnt just little shapes on paper... It was real life parts that I had to figure out how to cut accurately to within .0001 of an inch.
Now calculus on the other hand... It still dont make sense to me. They lost me at "imaginary numbers"... Phfffpht!!! -

I learned by being told 'park the *****ing trailer in the dock or we don't get paid' and I had to learn not to hit anything or not get paid, it was that simple. This was a time when you didn't eat if you didn't get paid.
Stop overthinking it, practice with a truck and trailer is the only way to learn it and practice it often.Sons Hero, Oxbow, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this. -
