    Swift imposter?

    Maybe....:biggrin_2559:

    Never say never, huh? :D

Where on earth did you see that?

There's no indication of anything like that on their website.

If Swift has gotten into the fuel hauling world....details, please? :p

Good point, job stability is still my top priority of course.

As for turning down loads, I've never turned down loads yet, I guess it just doesn't make sense because the system is opaque and I have no idea what alternatives I would have if I reject loads and how long they'd make me wait for the next offer

I would be it's a one off for supplying one of their terminals.

As a rule, Schneider doesn't own doubles, we haul other peoples doubles, but dont run our own. The exception is for out parts department supporting our OCs.

    Don't live in fear.

    If I don't like a load I will use option 3 in mac 9 - counter.
Counter it with times that will not work and the load is taken off you.
Or they will accept your times and bounce it back to you - on your terms.

That works as long as the load has tight times, but I also use it when the pick up or delivery are not in my usual range of working hours.
I like to keep a consistent schedule, for the most part.
And more often than not, I will be sent a new pplan with a better load in short order.
Countering a load just tells them the times you are willing/able to do the load in, and there is no explanation needed.

As for job stability, I have been with Swift for 12 years.
I have always done things the same way, from day one.
Sometimes I need to take a load that I don't like, but not very often.

And, to get away from the west coast, you may need to turn something down.
The only way to do that is to take control.

    gentleroger and XenonOxide Thank this.

Great points. Well I've already done my time being the goody two shoes that rejects nothing, I'm sure they can't begrudge me a macro 9 now and then

Truth be told--as long as you aren't hitting anything/anyone (accidents, incidents)....and you have a high percentage of on-time deliveries (i.e., some late loads just aren't really the driver's fault)...you should be good.

You mention Stockton ... are you out of Lathrop? ...Go in and get to know your DM and ask to meet the planners, just to say hi.

I ran out of Lathrop for 8 years, ran close to 3000 miles a week and ran mostly east and around the mid west ... key was having good relationship with the planners and DM.
