In trucking not showering falls under the lazy agenda category.I don't know what is so difficult about taking a shower during your 10 hr brk.You have time to feed your face don't you, well find the time to clean up.I sleep better after a nice hot shower.

I've seen those guys using the shower towels to soak up overflowed toilets.

lol still better then baby wipes...where there is a will there is a way.. in the Navy is was perfectly normal to take a mesh laundry bag fill it with dirty clothes and a little laundry soap, tie a rope around it and throw it off the back of the ship while under way...

When was ships laundry not broken down? lol I was on a cruiser.. ships laundry lost half your #### or took forever to get it back.. personal use washers were always broken.. And I was an engineer so wearing your coveralls for 3-4 days straight was no bueno.. plus I had to wear the fire retardants so it wasnt like i could just go buy 30 pairs before a deployment.

Not a bad idea. I hadn't considered that. Lately I've been trying to stay where it rains more so I can crawl under the trailer and scoop up the rain drops as they fall from the trailer sides. I find that if you can incorporate a little of that sand on the side skirts that it, along with the dripping rain drops, has an exfoliating effect on the skin leaving it soft and supple. Wipe that on me, a little under the armpits and I'm good until the next rain.

I was in when we wore the bell bottom jeans and denim shirt and the salt water would bleach them. Some boiler techs and enginemen would do it to get the heavy gunk out. One problem with the ships laundry in those days was the ships misfits & brig rats were sent there TAD so they didn't really care & many times the clothes came back still dirty and damp.

I was the last class through great mistakes that got issued dungarees... they looked goofy as all hell, but we're without a doubt the most comfortable uniform the Navy ever issued me...they we're phased out before I even finished A school.. good to meet another engineer though. and thank you for your service.. I was a Damage Controlman, aboard the USS Port Royal out of Pearl Harbor.. best and worst four years of my life.. lol 9/11 happened my second year, so in 4 years i did 3 west pacs, and managed to become a golden shellback (the real way) things have changed now..
