just got hired on this week, looking forward to heading to orientation in a week or so. I was wondering are the miles consistent and do they honor your home time request? I usually stay out 3-5 weeks at a time.

miles will be given to you as you show them you can be counted on,my experiences with my hometime in the 6 years I have worked for them have been great, there are others that have not had good experiences.I myself have a pretty low tolerance for not getting home on time.I return to work ontime every time no excuses and expect the same in return.I live in Dallas area so getting freight home is never a issue

Autoshift is fine going forward, backwards the truck goes too fast cause you gotta really press the pedal to get it to move. I end up slamming docks with it, embarrassing. LoL!

I got a freightliner, most of the trucks are cascadias and prostars, have a few kw and petes too. I like my cascadia except for the auto shift tranny in it. Most are straight 10 speeds now, just a few autoshifts left running the miles out on them. Cascadia doesn't pull hills very good.

thanks for the information Thomas0810. Home-time is important to the family because if she's not happy my life will be miserable!! Lol. I think i'm making a good choice and we're going make it work. I appreciate the feedback.
