I'm empty sitting at the hook in Toledo. I got my load at 2am, my reset wasn't up until 4am so I waited for it to be up then left at 4:30 this morning. I drove almost nonstop to get to my delivery on time. I drove 675 miles, took 2 power naps over the wheel and was empty at 5pm. I was short on available time to get to a truck stop so I took a violation and drove to the Flying J. I was 13 minutes in violation but used the remarks to show I was looking for a safe haven. I figured this being my first violation in 2 months shouldn't amount to more than a letter. At the other job I had one every week. I got my reload info. I load in Toledo at 6am going to Carlisle Pa for tomorrow evening, it's a 24/7 drop and hook facility so I should be done by 6pm. Say goodnight JohnBoy..........................Goodnight JohnBoy!

Empty last night in Carlisle. After waiting 2 hours to load yesterday morning I was rolling at 9am. Got done with my drop and hook in Carlisle at 5:30 with only an hour left for the day so I hauled tail to the J. How bad can the parking be at 5:45? Right, not a spot to be had except a bunch of idleaire spots. What the heck. I got one, shut the truck down and had my Internet and cable tv up and running in no time. Anytime I can sleep like a baby with the truck not idling is a bonus to me. Woke up this morning, put everything away, sent dispatch a note not to forget about me then went in to take a shower. We'll see what's sitting on my Qualcomm when I get back.

How is it going now? I am making a change also. No final decision as yet.

I haven't run the Keys in a long time. It's not a place to be sleepy!!! If you see Elvis fishing down there, it's not a good sign.

JB,
If it was me in charge you would not get a violation. I hope your superiors understand why you did what you did.

JB, you could have warned me about the breakfast st the hotel, I would have gotten up earlier and gone to Waffle House or McD's. I went through the fast track class as I did my DOT and physical last week plus being the only one in this orientation helps. Had my truck in the shop replacing the windshield. I think it is 1104 but can't remember as I only saw the number quickly.

Had the weirdest night last night. Stopped just outside of Nashville at the Petro. I was just done for the day. I know we all have those days. I didn't want to be in the driver's seat another dang minute. And I didn't want to be in Nashville rush hour traffic, so.... Anyway, went to bed around 9 pm and was sleeping really good. About 2 am, I hear knocking on my door. Ignore it!!!!! But they kept on knocking, so I got up and opened my vent and yelled "WHAT?" This guy asked me if I could move up just a bit because he was trying to get in the spot on my passenger side and was literally stuck. So, I moved for him. When he got in the spot, he came around to my drivers door and thanked me for moving and apologized for waking me. I told him I'd rather be awakened to move than because someone hit me. So, I go back to sleep. Woke up a little bit later and looked at my phone. 4 am. Cool, got another hour to sleep, NOT!!! Forgot that Nashville is on CDT, not EST!!!! I should've gotten up. I did go back to sleep, but had a crazy dream that somehow made me realize I needed to get up. Now, I don't know if y'all watch Ice Road Truckers, but there is a trainer on there (they were showing repeats while I was on home time), I can't think of his name, but he wanted to get the new guy, Porkchop, fired. Anyway, I dreamed he got into my truck and said that since I was going to sleep all dang day, the company had sent him to deliver the load and then take me to the yard. I said, "cool" and went back to sleep while he drove. Next thing I know, I'm at the "yard" but it was like a big mall and I'm looking for the bathroom and my truck in that order. Then I woke up thinking, "crap, I forgot about the time difference!!!!!" and shaking my head at the crazy dream!
Must be because I haven't been sleeping too well lately???!!!!OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
