Same truck... But I do miss the Team setup on the QC.... As a solo truck the darn thing is useless when in motion... Yes, I understand why but still... LOL

It's a huge step to go cross country for a job. You have reason to be nervous. I was nervous about going to Abilene and all I crossed was one state line.

not trying to talk you out of coming but if you are looking to run the western 11, that is not our backyard... I am sure Abilene will work the best it can for you and we do run that way, just not our main lanes.... Yet.

And nothing wrong with training on a manual either... Although I love my autos, learning to control a manual truck will give you a solid base for driving any truck going forward. Something fewer and fewer new drivers get to learn as autos become more popular.

Now, you could start with a lot worse company out there... Abilene is a solid company and you will have a good start to your Driving Career here. The folks here at Abilene (specifically this thread) are one of the reasons I chose to come here. If you hang around the yard some, you will come across a few not so positive folks but that's true of any trucking company.

As to "knowing" what its like here before coming... I would say this group gave me a fairly realistic glimps of life at Abilene. Both the good and not so good... And you will find a good support group here too should you opt to take the leap.

Sounds like you have two good, yet different, options ... Abilene has a lot to offer and I think it's well worth it but only you can decide if it's a good match for your specific needs.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Just remember, if you decide to leave, make sure you empty your truck out on your penultimate trip home. The plane only allows you but so much stuff. Best of luck!

If it's anything like the sound systems I have had, it's on the rear..........of the radio, not the rear of the truck. Mine have had a standard 3.5mm aux plug in the front, and RCA plugs in the back. In fact, my current '16 Pete (which is a distant cousin of KW) has RCA plugs (female end, like on a dvd/blueray player)as the icon for the rear aux.

Maybe KW's are similar since both are Pacar products, designed by Pacar engineers.

It appears he has been given a "vacation". His user profile shows unavailable.

I didn't fly in but my rental car was returned to Richmond airport and Rusty picked me up from there and took me to the hotel. I would get a flight that lands during usual office hours as i am not sure how it works after he goes home.

Brian, who is in charge of orientation picked me up from hotel at 7 each morning.
