I'm finding out that all truckload carriers are bad. The paperwork is ridiculous. The pay is embarrasing and a big slap in the face. The waiting time is unreal. The orientation is exhausting. The requirements are overrated. A thousand stupid reasons they threaten to fire ya is another slap. They really make you feel appriciated. I've been driving for 17 years and you might say I've been spoiled with a high dollar ltl company. Just jump in the truck and go. No call in. No quailcom, no phone calls, very very little paperwork and 50 sumpun cents a mile. plus getting paid for everything you do. It's nothing to gross over $1,800.00 with these outfits. I guess I'll just have to collect unemployment which is nearly half my common truckload paycheck.:biggrin_25516:

$1,800.00 Weekly (gross). ... Not every week but it wasn't hard to make it if I wanted it. If I tried to hit that mark with a truckload carrier id better have a 85 mph truck and throw away my comic book.:smt022

Sad but true. I know a few model drivers, in other words MAXIMUM PROFIT for their companies. They can't make their house payments. Slow economy my ###, their building a sob story for letting illegals haul the freight.

    PROVE ME WRONG.......please !

How do you want people to prove you wrong? Are you talking about the comment that the days of making a living are gone? They are not. Please be specific so others can help.

As for rodknocker's comments on truckload carriers, I think he is right on the money. It is sad that he was laid off from a good company. Times are tough and only the strong will survive. Unfortunately, a lot of those companies that survive are the ones that rodknocker speaks of. You know, the ones that advertise constantly and have a huge turnover? They survive on the backs of their drivers. If the drivers quit, there are many more just waiting in the wings. The cycle will continue.

    Drive safe
