I know the answer and if you don't believe me then check used prices:

    Diamond Reo is the truck.

One that the company owns. It has a rate of 0 depreciation to the one that drives it. In 11 years at this company I've driven hundreds of different units and not one has depreciated on me.

Don't know what the Experts say but in my mind, theres never been a more dependable truck than a 379 Pete and I have driven about every kind of truck that's been built. If I had to bet my life on a truck, it would be a 379. The best pulling truck Ive ever driven was a 389(Snub Nose-Pic below) Pete. It was a glider kit that had a 425 A Model Cat engine in it and I never saw a mountain that would slow it down, pulled like a 4 wheeler. Me and my co-driver used to give those bullhaulers a very hard time running across 20, pulling a set of double trailers!LOL hmmmmmm the good years of Trucking, where do they go?lol (May have been a 378? It was the short hood version of a 379)

The guy who owned that truck above started his trucking business with an Astro with a Detroit. He still has it but don't run it anymore. I drove an old 74 Ford CL9000 with a 318 Detroit in it. That was a big motor in those days, mostly what they run in those Greyhound Buses. Only truck I ever drove that produced a Flame from her stack was an old 68 Mack. Anybody remember Brockways?LOL I drove one of them with a 230 cummins in it. Had a compression handle on the front of the motor.lol

I have a friend who just acquired an old Astro for free. In good shape and runs but hasnt been started in a long time. Use to be an old International Transport truck.

They just recently auctioned off an old B61 Mack on ebay for $500.00. It needed a lot of work to make it roadworthy but it was worth that. I was out of town when the auction ended. I figured it would go for a lot more than that. It used to be an old Carolina Freight truck.
