I have an airtronic bunk heater that was installed with my Tri pack APU. Unfortunately I got stupid a couple of days ago and I had let my fuel run down to about an 8th of a tank. My bunk heater hasn't started since then. I know I ran it out of fuel. What I am trying to find out is how do I prime the fuel line for the bunk eater? I have searched high and low on many forums and cannot find an answer. I know I ran it out of fuel. It was stupid but now I'm trying to solve the issue of how to prime it.

    Any help?

I thought they were self priming, but it takes two or three start cycles for it to do it.

I once watched a mechanic priming one, he pulled the fuel line off at the heater underneath the cab and had it cycle till fuel came out. Put it back on and heater was working.
The fuel line in your tank might be a bit short for my liking. But that's the idea behind it, not to run a tank dry with the heater.
Good luck and please report back.

I thought they were self priming also. But apparently they are not. I let it run overnight to try and see if it would prime itself but it did not work.

I guess that kind of makes sense that it won't pprime itself because of the air in the fuel line.... if it is still connected. By taking the line off at the bunk heater you're allowing the air to get pushed out by the fuel that is trying to be fed by the small fuel metering pump.

Is it possible that it picked up some gunk from the tank bottom?

    That is also a possibility.

There should be inline filter just before pump

Isn't there a filter some where for the heater, i bet it is plugged.

But a bit of advice, never let your tanks go below 1/4 ever...
