That reminds me of the first time I went to sign up for the Army. The recruiter showed me a picture of a nice motel, he said we would be living in during basic training YA right.. :biggrin_25525:

haha speaking of the Army... you will always rush just to wait!
disp will tell you that you have a 2pm/am firm appt. DO NOT BE LATE, then you end up sitting at the dock, to staging area waiting for hours after hours...
and its true about seeing the country... kida goes like this
    in real life time

    Sat.
2:30 pm driver: oh look, mount rushmore is right up the rd
2:30 pass : can we go?
2:30 driver: im not sure we can get this truck up there?
2:31 pass. oh it would be so cool if we could
2:32 driver..eh. well we passed the exit a few miles back, and we have the 10pm firm appt. maybe next week on our way back
    ------
    5 days later...
12:10 pass. hey we gonna stop this time?
12:10, well we just passed the exit and we have that 8pm firm appt...
    mayb...pass-oh forget it

thats pretty much how seeing the country is
but you always have a 34hr reset ull need to take, and down time, and breakdown and weather and so on where u could actually do these things.

There was a guy who signed up for a state funded program (WIA,Ohio). This young man had 4 DUI's, and several misdeminors.... Believe it or not...He received free training from WIA, to drive a truck.

I love the way, we spend money...ain't it great.
We can give this guy money, BUT, don't get sick...."Sorry, here is a pill, and go die over there"

:biggrin_2554:Sounds like government thinking, wonder if they will re-train him when he can't get a truck driving job?

Maybe a rocket scientist, or there's always politics.

Getting trained and finding work with that record are two very different things.:biggrin_2555:

Which usually occurs when you are in that wonderful setting of nature and cultural activities ... Lodi, CA ... in 95*+ heat; left with the choices of leave your windows closed and idle the whole time (to run the A/C, in violation of your company's policies, so you don't boil), or open them and have that stench of the urine-soaked truckstop parking lot permeate the interior of your truck.

    See the country indeed. :biggrin_2552:
