Work for a mega slip seat local gig for about a year now. New to the industry still but I’m wondering am I being a pansy and a nuisance?
Three weeks in a row I’m pulled out of my perfectly working truck and put into a trashed rig with broken everything. Busted tablet mounts; broken ac, glass on the floor from shattered window, now three trucks in a row have bad steers and I’m refusing to drive them. My dispatcher (not my Dm he’s off until late in the day) is making me feel like I’m the problem for not wanting to drive two trucks in a row with bad steers (uneven tread wear on the shoulders, one with a slice down the sidewall) sitting for three hours burning my 14 hour clock cuz I was in yard moves and can’t edit the logs plus I won’t get paid for the time) and now can’t do my days loads.
I’m wondering, all the other drivers just raw dog their trucks don’t even bother to pretrip and I feel like I’m the only one who does because every time I get someone else’s truck I find safety problems. Am I just being a scaredy cat or should I find another carrier?
Am I the bad guy here? Refusing to drive junk!

1. Find another gig
2. Get hired and negotiate your start day to the day after you get your last paycheck from old gig
3. Simply don’t show up for old gig. No notice, no anything. Just start new gig and never give old gig another thoughtsilverspur, Gearjammin' Penguin, Concorde and 6 others Thank this. -
