You should be fine for the physical. Carry all the prescription info with you.
My biggest concern would be if the company is pushing for higher than the federal standard.
They may want you to do a Mobility/driver fitness test by having you walk under a trailer, climb in and out of the back of it, and move some stuff around inside. Basically trying to minimize workers comp claims by making sure you have a clue how to work safe.
For those not going with a mega that has mandated providers. look for the non-clinic affiliated DOT physical providers. I have a Nurse practitioner up the street that I prefer. Cool older gal that works out of her home. As mentioned, there are also chiropractic professionals that do the work.
In my opinion physician assistants and physicians affiliated with large/national clinics are inclined toward indoctrinating patients into the medical system and keeping them in the system.
Am I too fat for Physical?,

The best way to lose weight as a trucker is to do two things! BOTH are VERY difficult to do. First STOP drinking ALL colas, even the diet ones. The reason is the syrup base drives up the blood sugar. It gets converted by the body into glucose. That's right! EVEN diet drinks can cause MAJOR weight gain! They are also really bad on the teeth. I drink one from time to time, but nowhere near what I used to. The next thing is to go on a VERY limited no flour diet. Watch the bread etc intake. Get as much exercise as you can. I retired in 2012, since that time I have lost a bit over 100 Lbs. I might also add a third thing, skip lunch!

I didn't gain and haven't gained weight, but I am one of the lucky ones. My husband gained 50lbs his 1st year. Took him 1 1/2 yrs to lose it.
Like everyone said. It is very easy to gain weight.
I am diligent about making my food while on home time and packing them in portion sizes with the food saver.
Watch your carbs. If you don't consume more than 100 -130 carbs a day and keep your calorie count down you should be okay. That will keep the weight off more than exercising.Another Canadian driver and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Does any of these apply to you?

Without the cheap carbs, it's actually pretty hard to eat enough calories to gain weight.Another Canadian driver, Jenn72, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -

This is how my trucking day will start. Breakfast, a smoothie. Strawberries, blueberries, spinach, carrots, apple, few walnuts, avocado and fat free milk with a boiled egg. Lunch, nothing, just water and two multivitamin gums. Dinner, a cold tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomotas and onions. Before dinner, I will brisk walk for 30 minutes, and do stretching exercizes using resistance bands.

Meat, chicken, and fish is better for you. They are low carb and full of protein. Protein will keep you filling fuller longer.Another Canadian driver, jcrack08, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
