I think the high fructose corn syrup is the main culprit in weight gain. It’s been used in soft drinks since the mid 80s. Along with being in 80% of processed foods today. It’s proven to increase appetite. It only gets converted by the Liver, and causes Non alcoholic fatty liver, a very common problem these days, and can eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver, resulting in main cause of liver transplants. Along with causing high triglycerides and high cholesterol, leading to increased heart disease, it also causes intestinal damage, in the form of tiny holes, resulting in leaky gut syndrome. Those are just the known affects. It will take years to discover what else it causes.

If we were discussing anything but weight loss I would agree. But for weight loss,

If you don’t have bad knees I highly reccomend a jump rope and a yoga mat +. the Crossrope app. And learn buddy Lee’s method of skipping.. buddy lee takes all the pressure off your joints and Crossrope workouts are full body and can be done anywhere. Jumprope cost less that 20$

About natural sugars!!! I started using the Dexcom CGM system in May of 2018. I was at a local diner having breakfast with a friend. I had taken my meds and my insulin before eating. My Sugar level held around 115 to 120 most of that morning. About two hours later I had a 10 oz glass of fresh OJ. Within 45 minutes my CGM was going off and my sugar almost hit 250. In fact, I can drink a diet cola and it won't get much higher than 150. If you are attempting to lose weight, watch ALL sugar, all of it! Sorry, it's just how it is!

    *Yawn*
Get up, stub toe on something, fall face forward towards curtains, all but yanking them down.
Finally get dressed, hit that top iced over step and go sprawling down out of the truck.

Now you’re limber enough to go drive.

That only happens with bulk carriers.

Professional box haulers only have to worry about being overpowered from/by the euphoria of Unicorn farts....

I'm starting to think you are trolling us with all these posts. 5,10 and 217 isn't fat, certainly not fat enough to disqualify you from a physical. You've been researching and talking to truckers, I'm sure you've seen some of the 300lb+ guys around

And you are going into this with an awful lot of ideas, like eating 2 healthy meals a day, walking, weight training and a whole slew of other ideas about what trucking will be like. And while that's good to be a forward thinker its also important to not set your expectations so high that you can't reach them, thus getting frustrated and upset.

Yes, fruit has a lot of carbs, and yes, that's a problem especially when the goal is weight loss.

No, the solution is not protein, of whatever source. Protein is not as bad as carbs, and we need a variety of good quality protein, but it is better to replace the carbs with (the right) fat. Make sure the fat profile is correct, i.e. plenty of mono saturated fats (short chain tryglicerides if you want to be specific). Omega 3's like DHA and EPA, commonly found in fish, pasture raised animals and game and stuff like coconut oil.

It's the fat that curbs appetite, and it's the lack of appetite that is critical to weight loss.
