OMG amazon 'stole' your trailer and now after you took it back it has all kinds of stolen Amazon products on it.

DID YOU CALL AMAZON AND TALK TO A LOGISTICS MANAGER?

Wait ..????? you had it for months and this still hasn't been resolved?

Did you open a case with the cops?

Amazon didn't claim you stole their property yet?

Something is not right with this.

and hows that been working out for you by handling the situation on your own.

I'll bet if you hire an attorney, he'll write a letter threating harsh legal action, if they don't get this resolved by the terms listed. I'll bet within 3 or 4 days you'll have a check & your empty trailer.
They're wrong & they dont even want to fight this.

What happened when you got the trailer back? The company that was hauling it must be on the hook for the cargo so what was their reaction?

Oh shucks! My bad. Here have your trailer back and I'll just tell Amazon to pound sand.

Before I retired we 'lost' one to Amazon and it was truly an eye opener that made me wonder if anyone pre-trips old trailers.

Dropped one of our oldest 48 footers, [NJ to NJ] loaded, at amazon who promptly re-loaded it and sent it in it's way.

The GPS told a tale of various jaunts Amazon to Amazon and 'Nobody' at each location answered the phone numbers we were able to get.

We were a local LTL carrier and this old rag was doing little mileage, was on the 'trade it soon' list and was probably still in use because it didn't leak.

After a months long journey all around the country, it sat at a location in KY long enough to have the local PD pay them a visit.

Now we had a local trailer repair vendor check it out and after considering the recovery and repair costs we sent him the title and were done with it.

I'm sure it was pretty beat by then, the vendor got an old storage trailer for the cost of pulling it in and repairing it.

I have a police report, I opened a case w Amazon. No one seems to care, I get the run around w every person I talk too. The cops pulled the truck over on 75S n the stolen trailer (my trailer) was impounded cause I was on the road. I picked it up next day. It’s fully loaded n Amazon does not seem to care… but I don’t want it coming back on me later on IF I “keep” the stuff n they decide they want it back a month later. I feel like I’m screwed!

Put it in storage. Have them pay for it when they need the stuff.

Couldn't you deliver it wherever it was going? Tell them get their stuff off and leave

How long before we see the "The cops pulled me over and stole my Amazon load and now Amazon wants me to pay for what was in the box" thread? :)

Just so I understand this, you talked (or at least tried to) to Amazon and they said and did nothing. You called the cops, they found and impounded your trailer. They RETURNED this trailer to you WITHOUT checking to see what was inside and who owned it? Not likely. They probably talked to Amazon and Amazon said you can have it.

Seems to me if the cops gave it to you, its YOURS to do with as you wish. As someone else said, Amazon will likely put in a claim on their insurance.

But if you really want to be safe, ask the COPS what you should do with it. The ones that found it.

Again, hire a lawyer. Have them send Amazon a letter regarding payment and what needs to be done with their garbage. Lawyers will know what the local laws are regarding abandoned property and how long and what hoops you need to jump through before it's legally your garbage to do with as you please.
Until they see a letter from a lawyer it's easier for them to ignore you and just pretend the mess never happened than to figure what's actually on the trailer, where it was headed and why.
