In my short OTR time I once delivered to New Orleans cold storage near the gulf in the am. Found the nearest truck stop that was not much more than a gas station. They claimed to have a restaurant. I hit the bunk and woke up at 8:15PM. Went inside to find that the restaurant closed at 8PM!!!! First bad sign. The place had a bar, I figured I could get a burger or something. The music was thumping. Everyone in the bar turned and looked at me when I walked through the door!!! Like some alarm was set off when a white boy entered.
I went back to the truck and ordered a pizza delivery. They called back in 11 minutes and told me, "We do not deliver to that area!". It was not because they were to far away!
I ate my stock food that night, laced the seatbelts through the door handles and kept my hammer next to the bunk.
It was one of the quietest nights I have spent out in the truck...
My new division has me rolling through the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago every day, for the last 4 years. That is the location racking up about 70% of Chicago's gang murders. So far no problems.

You guys do realize that if you spray bear spray you'll more than likely be down for the count too right? And if it happens when you're sleep then you'll be disoriented. I know I've had a few times jumping out of bed thinking I missed my alarm not thinking straight
