    Hello,
Edit- please move to Canadain truckers my bad sorry.

I'm in Ontario this days looking to start my truck driver studies. The cheap schools i found their prices range at 6-6.5k canadain dollars. There is one school that charge 8.1k, but say their work with companies and can recruit me to work as a driver after i graduate. Should i trust it?

    Not unless you:

    A. Want to work for those companies
    B. Talk to those companies and confirm that they exclusively hire from that school.
    C. If it is a gurentee, definitely not, but it might be legit if it is a guarantee. (I couldn’t help myself)

    Joetro Thanks this.

The school doesnt want to talk to those companies and ask them for details while i didnt even started study there so I'm sure they will refuse to give me the company names. They don't gurentee but the school's manager said in the beginning it'll be for sure since there is a huge demand for truckers in Canada. Recently when i talked to one of the secretaries she only told me they will help me write a resume and didnt mention the employment but did confirmed they work with companies when i asked her.
Another employee when i spoke to him two weeks ago was not clear when i asked him how much I'll earn in the beginning when they just recruit me.
The whole thing smells fishy to me that is why i came her to ask about it.

I’m not Canadian so I can’t tell you anything about that market. If it is anything like the US you don’t need to pay more to go to a “special” school to get hired and exactly zero companies I applied with wanted a resume.

    What IS important:

You don’t have anything on your drivers record that would make it difficult to get a job.

You have a medical card before you shell out your hard earned cash.

The school teaches you how to drive safely and not just how to pass the test.

I forgot to mention something- my bad - I'm not a citizen in Canada and dont even have a PR! So in order for me to find a job alone, I'll have to find a company that will agree to issue a worker visa for me. A lot of people did it and does, but not as easy as if you have a pr, and might take some time. If the school's promise is true and fair, it might save me rental of months of looking for a job and living in Canada without working, or even worse- running out of tourist visa and have to fly back to my country and issue a new one- which might be a problem in the aspect of border security (they barely let me in. Now they'll see i come again. What will i say? Came to another big vacation in Canada?)
