Probably costs too much to replace the panel just to erase the last remaining reminders of Moore.

we were testing one of the ELDs that use to be phone based who's home base is out of the PNW so their customer support was closer to home(Just trucking or something like that, recently changed to another name). Our newest Peoplenet systems that they said we're upgrading to are the next generation past the #5 tablet system we had there when I left (and the same system Creaffer is using). Supposed to be a stand alone tablet. Since we don't do much with messaging other than load info, it shouldn't be too bad of a system...I hope. I hope they don't do what Creaffer did and jam a bunch of useless crap like Drivewyse and Co-Pilot on there...although a document scanner like Transflow would be useful

Crete is supposedly going to newer tablets this month.. but with level of incompetence over there it won’t make any difference anyway

So long as it’s vanilla Peoplenet it’s not to bad, the software doesn’t always play nice with the back office though.

And stay away from customizations, that sounds like what Crete tried which is likely why their system sucked so bad. Our Peoplenet really just allows the planners to get arrival proof and provide email to the unit for fleet messaging (of course ELD functionality).

Yeah, my company uses people net as well, but we only use it for those purposes that you just described as well very basic. We don’t have much on our units either and it works fine… Mine with this new company doesn’t lock up at all like it did at Crete/m

We were testing out Keep Trucking, now known as Motive. It had a forward facing dash cam that was supposedly pretty nice. Excellent picture quality, and we could get a clip in almost no time.

I have had very few issues with peoplenet. The updates that everyone freaks out about happen at night when I’m not running. Once I had to pull my overhead compartment apart to get at the actual brain box to get the SN. Someone at kenworth had activated a new truck using my trucks info and the system thought I was in Ohio.

Recently about once a month it will lose connection with the truck and technically not be ELD compliant, but I’ve figured out how to work around it.

I will say us staying with Peoplenet because that’s what Wylie runs is not a great sign of us staying independent. It could be nothing though. Only time will tell.

Keep truking... that's it...only heard Travis mention it a half dozen times or so...it sucks to get old and senile...my KW's Peoplenet would randomly power off when you turned the key off...you always had to make sure you were in the duty status you needed to be in before shutting down. Thankfully this Volvo doesn't do that.
