I loaded out of Morenci quite a bit. I didn’t love those loads though because we had to have air brake knob locks, and chain the landing gear down when we would go inside somewhere to shower or grab some food. Couldn’t stop in El Paso for anything other than food which was ok with me. Also couldn’t hangout in west Memphis with those either.

Gotta love those high dollar loads. Didn't pay me any more than I was making.

My APU is going nuts. Yesterday, at the Sky City truckstop, it started sluggishly, but then reved up and ran fine. It has done that before, usually in cold, higher altitude locations, so I didn't think anything about it. I have been keeping it running the whole time I have my bunk heater on because it didn't start the other day in Ohio when it was 25°, and the bunk heater was running until the batteries needed a charge...then everything got shut off by the low voltage cutoff. When I was at Sky City, after 4 or 5 hours, it started to bog down like a huge appliance was turned on, but I only had the phone charger, and the 2 fridges, along with the bunk heater. It boggs down, almost stalls, some of the relays for the thing start clicking under the bunk, it surges, bogs, surges, bogs then runs fine for a bit. A few minutes later, it does it again. Sometimes it only does it a couple times then goes back to running fine for a while. I thought it was the cold messing with it (it was around 20°). Then in Barstow last night, it started and ran just fine, until around 2 am when it started bogging and surging again, and actually stalled completely once. Can't say I am a fan of Carrier APU's, I never cared for them even before working here, and this surely won't improve that.

The rapid clicking under the bunk is the shore power contractor/relay coil loosing its holding power as the voltage from the generator drops as the rpms drop. Could also be a sign of a skipping generator belt, but that wouldn’t cause the engine to bog down.Gearjammin' Penguin and Lonesome Thank this. -
I have a Tri-Pak and even on my previous truck that I had a tri pak on when it started to do that not wanting to start or shutting down the fuel pump was going out or had gone out. It could be something similar with the carrier. like the other two guys stated as well.

Like everyone said, Fuel pump. They are known to fail. Ozark would replace them due to age rather than waiting for them to go bad.
