I wonder what their reasoning behind giving some of the fleet the option but not all.
I know some guys abuse pc and the adverse conditions exception way to much. It’s going to be rather inconvenient if we lose PC. My division sometimes sets for days waiting on a load to be ready, or spend whole weekends without being able to travel due to restrictions.
We have had 4 tickets in the last month for drivers doing split sleeper birth wrong. I can see that going away soon. I don’t understand why we have like 6 people in our safety department and that’s not getting caught. When I started here 8 years ago we had one single person in safety. A simple edit would fix most of those issues.

How does one mess up a split using an elog? That takes talent.Lonesome, runningman0661 and Rugerfan Thank this.

That's my question as well. The drivers are believing the information on the magic box, and the magic box isn't providing accurate information. But it's easier to ride a driver than pressure a ELD provider the size of Peoplenet...just like at Wylie.

Because some of these guys think windows are quite tasty. To be fair the first time you stop after a qualifying 2+ hour break, a message pops up that says you must not driver after this time (you original 14 hour window) unless you intend to take x amount of hours off in the sleeper. It’s a violation that happens after the fact.dwells40 Thanks this.

Safety said call Peoplenet about my missing PC. As for the Inc/LLC on our logbook, they said don't worry about it.
JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
Interesting, our version gives you the time remaining, it doesn’t offer an explanation-it’s on you to figure out the rest.
Yeah some people really go crazy on adverse conditions, as if you find them every day lol. -
When we were on peoplenet i would take a 2hr break which the peoplenet automatically stopped the clock. Sometimes the break would be 4 hrs and the peoplenet stopped the clock after the 2 and never started dropping the 14 after 3hrs off which gave you more time. If I drove a ways after the 2hrs paused and stopped for 2 more it would stop the clock again.

Probally using a two or three hour split to pause their clock on a day before they begin a 34hour reset out of their truck. It is quite easy to do. Such a split must be completed in Sleeper berth and not ofc duty home in your own bed.dwells40, gentleroger, Winnyf1 and 1 other person Thank this.

I once had a trainee who struggled with the concept of time. We were at the truckstop for the night at 2030 with a plan of starting at 0700. I typically start at 0600, but we'd shutdown later than usual so the dot break wouldn't end until 0630.
The idiot woke me up at 0555 saying "it's time to go". I grumped at him and reminded him that we weren't starting until 0700, but at that point I was awake and needed to per before I could doze off, so into the TS I went. I came out at 0615 to find the truck in the fuel island and the pumps running.
The idiot had put himself on duty and did a piss poor pretrip, ignoring the warning that the dot break wasn't complete. Then he drove to the pumps with the QC blaring at him that he was outside the HOS and used his efs card to start the pumps. Not only didn't we need fuel, we couldn't add fuel without going over weight.
Then he didn't understand why he couldn't drive that day.
So, yeah, I can easily see how a guy can screw up a split log with an eld.motocross25, Gearjammin' Penguin, Chieftains and 10 others Thank this. -
