Don Daseke decided he was going to go into trucking. First company he purchased was SPD hence the holding companies name. EW Wylie was second company he purchased. There have been many more along the way. Old article btw.

An interesting perspective on Daseke…
Daseke: Recalibrating Expectations (NASDAQ:DSKE) | Seeking Alphakylefitzy Thanks this. -
I realize it's an old article... that's why I worded it the way I did when I first posted it. 1st time we were the lead company, this time they are the lead company. I guess the only difference is in who is running Daseke. Last time Don Daseke was running his company, now they retired him and the stockholders are running the company.

Wow, snackbar, you really started pulling on a thread. Some of these corporate maneuverings make my mind spin. I wonder where the Walden part of the name came from and also the relationship between Don Daseke and Main Street Capital Corp.

Whoops, I guess I found my answer in yet another article:
"It’s the second billion-dollar enterprise that Daseke built. In 2000, he sold real estate firm Walden Residential for $1.7 billion."
Daseke's story and path to success is pretty interesting too.Last edited: Jan 15, 2023

Did he make the infamous Waldens Pond??

Thanks for posting those. I haven’t seen those before.
I do believe Walden Smokey point was the original name of Daseke the trucking conglomerate. -
Got delivered and made it back to the Love's. Still feeling like crap, so I had to go thru the torture of setting up an account on our Tele-doc provider. At first it was $82, for a phone call!!!! Then once the stars aligned, it was free. Doctor says it sounds like a respiratory infection, not a cold and called in a script for antibiotics. I know I have never had a cold hang on over a couple days, let alone over a couple weeks...and it is draining my energy. I only had 5 chains on that military truck (4 corners and 1 extra for spits and giggles) and I had to stop and take a breather between taking them loose and putting them away. I knew it was something other than a cold when my wife gets over it before I do.
