An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

You're failing to see the point....my latest rants have been about the Wylie, so called, partnership. You also don't realize that the old SPD was an entirely different culture than the mainstream trucking world. The old SPD, like Moore, was a small, close knit group of people who gave a #### about the people they worked with. At Moore, I developed a friendship with many, inside the office and out here behind the wheel, and I still keep in contact with a few of the drivers from there that moved on to other companies. And it was similar here. When @kylefitzy said that this is only a job at this point it should be a hint that this place was not your ordinary cookie cutter trucking company. There is nothing wrong with being friends with the people you work with...in fact, that is one thing wrong with the whole ####ing industry, absolutely no comradery. It's every person for themselves and a "what's in it for me" attitude. And as far as having loyalty and dedication to your company, again, it a sign of the new breed of driver, and it's why this industry is full of mindless automations, with no pride in their work...and it's why so many leave this industry.


And the point I was trying to make is that when they first announced that we were partnering with Wylie, they claimed that we would still be running our own show out of Arlington...I am just trying to point out that there are a lot of similarities between the partnership between Wylie and Moore, and the one between Wylie and SPD. And it appears that we are headed down the same deadend road here. We may still have people in Arlington, but to say they're running the show is like saying Jeff Dunham's dummies are running their own show...he may make it appear like they are, but it's his hand up their back making them appear like it...and the case of this company...Wylie would be playing the part of Dunham. And it may be that Daseke is telling Arlington that they're gonna let them do their own thing, but that's until the other shoe drops and they change their mind and make SPD just another division of Wylie like their glass division and their Case equipment division...SPD would just morph into Wylie's aerospace division.

 

Amen brother....the only thing Wylie and Daseke are loyal and faithful to are the All Mighty Profits...and I don't mean the Profits in the Bible, they worship at the alter of the dollar sign.
