Well there’s a few things consistent about these dust collector/ bag house loads.

I get to fight a head wind all the way across Kansas on us 36 then some how turn north on us385 in Colorado and still have a head wind. It was a struggle to maintain 55 at times today.

also I get to park in this dirt lot in Wellington colorado waiting for Wyoming to get their #### together. Thank god other northern states don’t just close the highway because they can’t maintain it. Got my Crete day cab buddy keeping me company. EAD0CF29-5B1B-448A-A519-E0CFD4547B31.jpeg

I got checked in, loaded, secured and checked out in a little over an hour and a fifteen minutes on Tuesday. I made it to Lebanon TN for the night. The forecast has gotten worse between St. Joseph and Lincoln, so I stopped east of Oak Grove MO to wait it out. Having only 6000 lbs that is worth a lot of money, I don't want to risk it. I tried to call the customer to see if they're open on Monday (President's Day), but the number on my load info goes to a generic voicemail, so I will get with Op's tomorrow to see if they have a different contact number.

I am not meant to get to WA early. Things were predictably crappy going up thru Lincoln most of the day, so I decided to go across KS and CO then up to Cheyenne and across WY. Made it to Burlington, CO and my APU won't idle at all, so I idled the truck most of the night. Got up this morning and checked the weather forecast and....WY, more specifically Elk, is under a high wind warning until 17:00, no light, high profile vehicles, which I am most certainly a light, high profile vehicle. Plus, the forecast for Snoqualmie is back and forth, one day it's heavy snow expected by Sunday, the next time you look, it is 1-3" and temps around, or slightly above freezing. So, I won't know if I am taking the southern route until the last moment. I will be glad to get this run in the books. I talked to my travel agent this morning to see if they had an alternate number to call the receiver to see if they're open on Monday(President's Day). He was told by the CSR that they don't observe that holiday, so they will indeed be open. So, if no other weather or vehicle catastrophes occur, I will kick these off Monday and head for the yard to get all my vehicle's issues fixed, or will attempt to get them fixed, that is.

Well, I pushed my luck and went ahead and rolled across WY. I brought up the WY road app, and switched to the weather stations and started watching the wind speeds. It was more windy on the east side of Sherman than Elk, and most of the wind was from the west, so you just got the occasional push on one fender or the other...however after Rawlins, all the way to Wamsutter it was a constant crosswind, and snow was blowing across so fast it made you dizzy(or in my case, dizzier). Just past Rawlins, they hadn't touched it yet, and it was getting icy in 100 yd patches. A couple times I actually moved closer to the rumble strip in case I needed traction. I have stopped in Wamsutter for a 30 and plan to get to Little America or Fort Bridger tonight. After the Point of Rocks, the app shows 80 is green.
