I didn't know crushed cars paid enough for our needs...guess I better stop jokingly wondering when we'll stoop to hauling bailed cardboard.

LOL...bailed cardboard can be fun. We got a call last week from some guy in the Bay Area that wanted us to bring his trailer load of cardboard from Oregon. His driver had quit and they couldn't find the tractor. Problem is, the load had been rained on for about two weeks. And it wasn't tarped.
We told him thanks but no thanks and gave him the number of one of our competitors.

If nothing else, I've learned flatbed is not for me if I decide to stay in trucking, outside very specific parameters. Kudos for having the patience to deal with the tarping strapping chains etc lol

I passed you this morning just before 10 south on US421. You merged on and immediately took the next exit.

I now know that your avatar is an actual picture of you. :mwink:

I am gonna go play the lottery. I noticed I was missing a lug nut on my trailer this morning, but wasn't at a facility to have on replaced. Got my load loaded, and at the 1st load check, I stopped at the Love's east of Black Mountain. When I got there, there were no trucks getting anything done. They backed me right in and put a new lugnut on and retorqued the rest to be sure...and I was out of there. How many times can you say that about a Love's shop...and this one is only a 1 bay shop.

NC DOT was perched about 10 miles from where you exited. So yeah, lottery time.

Just planning my trip across the US, if the weather holds, I just might be able to get this load delivered in Everett on Tuesday with enough time to get to the yard and get this truck serviced. Not bad, NC to Everett then to Arlington in 5 days. I don't have to push it to get there by then, but I just can't help myself. I may have to rename myself to Push-hard...strike that, I use to know a driver who went by that name on the CB...only he could push harder than I ever could on my best day, so I won't disrespect him by stealing bis handle.

Decided to go across WY, ID and OR this time. SD still had crappy roads west of Sioux Falls according to Google Maps. I had planned on stopping in Laramie for the night, and I am glad I did. They closed 80 west of there to light, high profile vehicles until midnight, and I am most definitely a high profile vehicle, and fairly light. Both my containers combined only weight 18,000 lbs. You can tell that there is restrictions around Elk, the Love's in Laramie was packed at 14:00. I am still hoping to get these kicked off on Tuesday, as long as mother nature gets done blowing.
