Will never happen. I am thinking about going into the EV rescue business. A big service truck with a lot of batteries and a heavy duty generator, and interchangeable ends to fit all various EV charging ports. Eventually it will be a legitimate necessity as more car makers transition to more EV models.

I just saw one of the new trailers being pulled out of the shop by one of the yard trucks, it had a bright shiny new spare tire rack on it, and the same truck was backing another new trailer in a few minutes later, so they must have gotten a shipment of tire racks in.

Also, there is a scrap dumpster here loaded with old headache racks without any of the removable hardware (grab handle, air line slider, etc.). Seems to be a heck of a waste not to repurpose those somehow...but what do I know, I iz gist a stooped truk dreyever

Tell dispatch you need a load from the yard to the house and load a couple up. Sure you could put them to use at the house or sell them

The shop managed to get me in and get most of the work done on my truck, not sure what is still on the list, but it will go back in today to finish up. The coolant leak wasn't a water pump thankfully, it was a bad hose clamp up under where I couldn't see without crawling around on a truckstop peelot. As long as I get out of here repaired and under a load that delivers by next Friday I am cool with it. With the pace I have been setting for myself, I can probably do 2 loads

*Update. Just talked briefly to the mechanic when he came to get my truck. Turns out there are bolts missing on one or more of my motor mounts...dang parts shortage . Plus he said I have a minor leak in my air-to-air which is shocking because this truck pulls way better than the KW I had, and if it pulls that good leaking boost, how much better will it pull once it's fixed

This is why being a 1099 driver is a bad idea

Several startups are experimenting with similar services, others offer “fillups” while people are at work.

I saw a YouTube video of a Tesla driver who was walking back to his car with a gas can...the YouTuber who posted it asked the guy if he knew he was driving an all electric car, then the guy opened the trunk and pulled out a Honda generator and told the guy he forgot to fill it's tank after the last time he used it to do an emergency recharge after he forgot to plug it in at home the night before.

And then there are clueless individuals like this

Yeah you have to be clueless as a Tesla driver to run out of energy, their system is fairly widespread and really you need a solid plan if you can’t charge at home.

No matter the technology you just can’t fix stupid smh.

I always thought that would be a great idea. Hook up some sort of recharge generator run by a 10HP Briggs and Stratton, or similar, in the trunk. Run that setup going down the road, putting in more power than you are using. And not using much gas.
