It depends on if it's doing it's passive regen or not. If it isn't, then it'll de-rate at some point due to a full DPF.
They took me off the elevator load, just in case. The appointment for those elevator loads are set in stone because they schedule people to handle the freight, so if the load is late, the extra cost comes back to the company. After I get empty tomorrow, I head to the KW dealer in Roanoke Rapids, NC to have it looked at.

SSB, I wouldn't worry about it. My last 2015 KW had the check engine light go off and on so many times that I lost count. And almost every time the I would put in DEF, the red light would come on and say to replace the DEF. It would go off in about 10 minutes. I had to give that truck back because it had almost 300,000 miles on it. I've got another 2015 KW with 220,000 miles on it. The check engine light has been on since I got it almost 3 years ago. No issues and obviously nobody cares. I have 0 F's to give. I've been told that we have new Pete's coming in. 10 speeds with jake lights. Outstanding! Now when I use the engine brake, the brake lights come on. I'm going to look like a moron every time I go over the Grapevine as well as on the SoCal freeways.LilRedRidingHood and pumpkinishere Thank this.

What code was it throwing...mine actually has stayed on all day with many engine shut down and restarts. And it has a 'moderate severity" rating, so it doesn't sound like just a sensor mis-read, it sounds like something is amiss.

@kylefitzy, do you know if they'll pull this Direct TV crap out of the truck if the driver doesn't want it? I spend more time with this on the TV than I do watching any shows
And I could use the table space for more important stuff than Direct TVpumpkinishere, Speed_Drums, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
@supersnackbar i have that system in my truck, a lot of the times that message will come on based on a loose connection in the cables, check your 2 RG cables from the satellite to the tv and you might find your issue. I have to physically set up my satellite every night because the company doesn’t want them hard mounted to the truck, and I have that message often because the cables either get crimped or become loose.
pumpkinishere and Bumper Thank this. -
Honestly, it's a waste of money for me...I hate Direct TV. We had it many years ago, if it gets cloudy, you lose signal...if there is a rainstorm within 40 miles, you lose signal, if someone farts to close to the dish, you lose signal...I have unlimited data on my tablet and my sound bar has Bluetooth so I can watch Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and rarely have issues except in parts of WY.LilRedRidingHood, pumpkinishere, Itsbrokeagain and 5 others Thank this.

I know I took the system out of the truck and handed it to them in a cardboard box. You might not want to go that route, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
I don’t see the issue with pulling the tv and the box. Those can go in and out in minutes.Last edited: Aug 12, 2022

My concern is, if I pull the system and return it like you did, then this truck, like so many other modern emissions trucks I have had, ends up being a shop hanger and I get moved to a different truck because of a long term repair issue. Then whomever gets it next would have to wait until they get back thru Arlington before having satellite tv. I mean, our last day of orientation, the 3 OTR guys sat down for dinner with the guy who's job was to fly around the country recovering trucks and bringing them back to WA...be it from a driver who had an injury or medical condition that took them out of the truck suddenly, or a long term wait for repairs due to the parts shortage issues and they moved the driver to another truck via a rental car, or drivers saying goodbye to trucking and abandoning their truck...there was enough of a need to have a dedicated recovery driver. I am hoping that my truck wasn't one he recovered due to regular shop visits.
I can honestly say that this will most likely be the last company I work for, be it a long and interesting adventure or a short problem plagued hop from one shop hanger queen to another, I can say that I see my career ending here, one way or another. And that this minor bump in the road with this early shop visit has put my enthusiasm about a long term adventure on hold because, like so many other modern day emissions trucks, I fear that it isn't what truck a company buys, or how well they spec them, all modern emissions trucks are unreliable junk and if this is just the start of another tour of the repair shops of america like so many other companies I have worked for, I will just retire and get out my cardboard 'will work for food' sign and crutch and reserve my spot at the end of the nearest interstate exit ramp.LilRedRidingHood, pumpkinishere, Itsbrokeagain and 7 others Thank this. -
You’re driving a computer on wheels. Computers break every day. It’s way too early to start with the retirement talk. Relax. It’s just a small bump in the road. My truck got towed to a dealer 2.5 weeks ago. I’ve heard nothing more. I’m in a loaner doing my thing. Life goes on.pumpkinishere, Crusader66, Lonesome and 9 others Thank this.
