An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

    Well, 4 am came and went, along with 5 am, 6 am, and 7 am and nobody showed up at the receiving office until 7:40...they don't start unloading until after 8 now, so there goes my opportunity to get the first 3 stops off today. :(


    Update-I spoke to my 1st stops receiving person, it wouldn't have been an advantage to get there on Friday because they were closed for Good Friday...but things improved as the day went along. Not only did I get the 1st 3 stops delivered, but I managed to get all the way to northern Ocala before shutting down. I am under 300 miles to my final so I can make my delivery and make it home on Tuesday and all the customers (so far) have been happy to unload me in a timely fashion.

    Managed to make it home, finally. There was a broken down truck in the right lane at the northbound Wildwood scales and traffic was backed up all the way to the turnpike. Then FL decided not only pull me in the scale but weigh me and my empty trailer...and it took the 30 seconds sitting on the scale to get the green light. I am only 38,000 lbs empty, not sure what their problem was.

    The Volvo is part of the problem too. I think it's bobtail weight is pushing 20k...my steers are over 13k empty.

    I bet you’re even heavier bobtail. I’m 24,700 bobtail with a set of tarps and full of fuel.

    my last 680 i was 37,500 with a 53’ conestoga. I’m not sure what I am now, about the only time I’m hooked to a conestoga I have a 3000 pound skin cart and that’s it.

    Yeah I’m only 18K with equipment and 200 gallons, but your truck is a lot bigger and a condo.

    We wanted to be able to accommodate our lumber clients and scale 48K, personally I’m hooked to a step so I tap out at 47K and I really work hard to avoid even going that much with my powertrain.

    On these Carrier POS apu's, is there a dedicated breaker for the one a/c plug in the sleeper that runs off the generator? I was using the outlet to power a small pressure washer and that outlet lost power. I tripped and reset the GFI buttons on the front of the plug, but I lost all power to the outlet. The a/c still works and the control box still show a lightening bolt icon meaning the generator is producing power.


    Nevermind...I must have been trying to trip/reset the outlet too soon after it tripped....tried it this morning and it reset and works fine.
