One thing I had to look up on this load was, do any of the remaining states I will be traveling thru on Monday consider this new holiday (Juneteenth) a major holiday and prohibit oversize movement...only VA recognizes it as a holiday, but none prohibit oversize movement.

Nj or PA turned it into a 4 day weekend for the permit office. That really screwed me last year.

I spotted you today at the Fairplains/Ripley Loves, thought it was you anyhow.

Less than an hour later I'm going south on the WV Turnpike and at the first toll booth guess what I saw..an OD truck, at least 12' wide and 14' tall going through the outside lane with a pilot car in tow.

4mer trucker and JoeyJunk Thank this.

Yeah, that was me. Unless his permit is different than mine, OD isn't allowed to use the turnpike on the weekend. He either didn't read his whole permit or he is risking a pretty hefty fine.

Yes and no. It pays $100 to tarp because it’s over 14’ wide or tall. But I have to use 60’ of belly tarps to fully cover the load, and that doesn’t pay any “extra”.
