As soon as the new plate/registration was issued, the old one was no longer valid. If they pulled it up by the WA tag, it would have shown as an invalid tag.

Change of plans. No longer delivering this long arse load. They have me dropping it at the Lonestar yard in Fort Worth now. According to @kylefitzy it happens to this load a lot. Now I sit in Van waiting for a new permit to be processed. Only lose 17 miles on the trip, so no biggie.

Sometimes I even impress myself. I hit this spot in one shot, just about perfect. With this load I can only see the front 4’ of the trailer. Okay maybe it was luck. 4DC1450C-3AD8-4386-886A-AA79A4813F06.jpeg

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while....:biggrin_25522:

At least you didn't use the Swift/CRE method...y'all have heard of the Smith system...Swift/CRE use the Ray Charles/Ronnie Millsap love making method...they go by feel. :)

Hey on your new truck are they keeping the standard bumper for you guys or do you get something special so you can attach your Oversized sign? How many more trips in the old gal before you have to make the change?

Ok @kylefitzy, you can still tell people you know me...I made it to the Lonestar yard, load intact, and no more damage on the trailer than what was already there when I picked it up...no damaged wheels or flat tires from hard curbing. My glass hauling experience has paid off

I Imagine my piece and quite time in this truck is rapidly coming to an end. The first truck is on our lot and the other 5 are at the dealer. All we have to do is install cameras and the peoplenet unit. Supposedly they are about two weeks out.

as for the front bumper, the company couldn’t figure out a solution it their lives depended on it. It’s up to the drivers. I’ve already got the stainless bolts and I’m looking forward to drilling holes in the front bumper. Same as was done on my last truck.

banners bungied on the front just looks tacky in my opinion. Might work for an occasional load, but 70% of my miles are run with banners on. 2164487C-78EC-41CC-A9D1-96EBE0FDD723.jpeg

Good deal! Honestly that trailer is much harder to get around by yourself then my 63’ stretch load thats 15’ wide. My axles are way up, we even added an extra 4’ to the front of the slider. And I have a rear escort to keep people out of my way.

I hear you there, our heavy haulers typically go your route, if I hauled OD more regularly, I would install a permanent sign myself…

There is one of your size loads on an SPD stretch flatbed here at the Lonestar yard. Looks like a 4' high(or so) rolling storage conestoga. Looks to me about 16' wide, and, I am guessing, about an 8' stretch...big steel wheels hanging down underneath the thing off each side and a big yellow towbar in the front. There is also a tall container on an RGN that looks like it comes apart in the middle...it isn't one of the regular looking tall Boeing containers like I've seen at the Wichita yard.

    dwells40 Thanks this.
