These go east coast to west coast. Around 3600 miles, by the end of it I’m real sick of looking at a container in my mirror. But for $4000 gross wages in just about a week, I’ll get over it.

Supposedly the my new truck is ready, just waiting on plates. Someone has the plates, but they are not in Washington. I assume someone at Daseke. They have about a week to figure all that out before I get to wa.

@supersnackbar gave the CA crew (even @The Block Robert) a nice shoutout and even through me a bone. One day he will realize I pulled the wool over his eyes convincing him to come over here, and even further tricked him into doing oversize. I think the saying goes, “Missouri loves company”, and I’m from Missouri!

and here I thought you were training your protege, sorta like the dread pirate Roberts...

That's how Prime started their orientation..."Welcome to Missouri" (pronounced misery)....only, they were right...it was miserable working for them.

Is your truck the one Liz sent out a messag about the other day? By the way it sounds like the new trucks are equipped, even for you guys hauling the real OD loads, you need a "Welcome to Misery' sticker on the dash...as many issues as I have had with this Volvo...I hope I keep it a long time.. I think I will hate the new trucks.

When it rains, it pours. Was out to eat with friends yesterday, and the A/C croaked on my wife's 2016 Ram. Normally, a/c on a passenger vehicle is a DIY repair for me, but, Dodge jumped the gun on the new 2021 EPA regulations about refrigerant and started putting the new, more environment friendly refrigerant in some of their vehicles back in 2014-2015...and mine is one of them. This new R1234yf refrigerant is still so ungodly expensive to work with, a lot of the smaller mom-n-pop repair facilities can't afford the dedicated equipment for just one specific type refrigerant, and the older equipment isn't compatible with the new type components...while you can DIY it to a point, the refrigerant is still expensive. 1 small can is $60-75(mine will take almost 3), the compressor itself is between $300 and $700 depending on what system you have, and the process of installing, purging and charging the new systems is beyond what most DIY shade tree mechanics like me are able to do because it takes a new type of connector to even vac the system. It might be cheaper to trade this POS Dodge in for an older Chevy that can still be worked on by this old fart. After owning a newer Dodge, I have become a major Dodge hater!!! This thing is a major money pit.

These auto manufacturers seem to deliberately building vehicles to a point where it is complete nightmare for someone to work on their own vehicles anymore so that they can gouge the customer anymore to fix stuff…
