It will be challenged in court and defeated before it ever becomes a rule. Hell, half the politicians in congress won't be able to drive themselves around in a new car if it goes thru.

This will be a reason they demand taxpayers provide them with a driver 24/7

So, @kylefitzy, how many times have you caught yourself waving your right hand at the floor looking for your gearshift...and stomped your left foot to the floor trying to hit the clutch pedal?

I found myself resting my hand on a shifter knob no longer there. Took a while to break that habit

I did that with my 1st auto too. That and the Mack I had didn't have a "cancel" button for the cruise so to disengage the cruise it was try to tap the clutch pedal (that wasn't there), tap the brake, or hit the off button. Can't count the number of times I went to tap the clutch pedal and my foot hit the floor.

I haven’t gone for the clutch yet but I have tried to grab the shifter a few times. I’ve run the same route through Colorado some many times I’m used to slitting gears down as I enter towns.

I’ve also tried to hit the pedal on the steering column to tilt the wheel, it’s a lever on this truck.

The nice part about this color is that you can’t even see where I sprayed fuel all over the side of the truck when the nozzle fell out. Twice. I’m a slow learner, even tried to catch it the second time and got a nice wash down. Stupid design, I’ll have to add bungees to both sides. B063560C-8B35-4326-82DA-D61F6A09BEEF.jpeg

And you'll never get that diesel smell out of your clothes. The 1st company I started driving for had fuel pumps at the terminal, but nobody told me they had altered the flow rate so you could fuel faster, and it had so much pressure it would shoot the nozzle out of the tank like a fire hose. It just so happened that just as I let go of the handle to go to the passenger side, someone was walking by and the hose came out of the tank and I instinctively stepped between the other driver and the nozzle. And got totally soaked in diesel. I tried everything to get that fuel out of the clothes. I ended up throwing them on the burn pile.

I’ve seen tons of Hornady trucks with COTC logos on the doors out here on the west coast lately. Used to never see them out here.
