Around the same time we "partnered" with We-lie, they blended Hornady in with COTC. I think the grand plan is to group a lot of the smaller companies with similar freight bases together and have only a handful of larger companies under Daseke banner.

Bettin' it was a Daseke decision and not a Mr. Young decision?

We finally have confirmed build slots for our new 367's. Should be a nice little Christmas gift.

We also had an 88 for a time. Bought it from the dealership while I was working there. Another salesman took it in trade. Great ride.

It's "operation slim down". They're trying to lighten all our new equipment down enough so that we can haul Wylie's cheap and heavy table scraps.

Nice in the 367’s, I always liked those. Mike no longer has any involvement in ordering or assigning trucks, he’s strictly road repairs and maintenance.

I’m not sure how much anyone in Arlington, or even Fargo had to do with ordering these trucks. They are almost identical to the other Daseke new trucks I’ve seen.

I’m starting to get this truck turned into something more functional, even if they don’t like it. Got the front sign set up with the cutout for the radar. 2CD90533-ECCF-44D1-B7A5-AA0C34B1EC9A.jpeg
Installed my cone holder, eventually I’ll put another short winch bar holder behind it. I had one on my last truck and it super convenient. I only use my long bar for snap binders, very rarely for straps. F6AE87FA-BB17-4794-8A56-1650873289C3.jpeg
Still have to install my big cb and vhf. I’ll keep the stock setup as a backup. I need to put some tie down points on top of the headace rack for my padding rolls. I have two power supplies I need to install behind the dash for my phone charger and gps. They will get routed through small notches in the dash trim so the wires are not seen. I do really like doing unapproved modifications to company equipment. Hahaha

I am wondering if they'll keep these heavy Volvo's for the normal duration. I hope so, even if I don't like it that much, it's still better than the new 680's

Is that the new Peoplenet tablet?

Yes. It’s pretty freaking nice, a big upgrade from what I had. Much faster, better pop up keyboard that has all the numbers and letters on one screen. And after awhile it start to remember what you typed so after you start typing your name or trailer number it suggests the full thing above the keyboard. To do an inspection is like 8 key strokes max now.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

Didn’t SPD go back to a mileage based pay scale? If so, doesn’t matter what’s on the trailer — put it in the wind.

But the heavier it is, the slower these castrated PACCARs will go. Most of our regular Boeing freight is relatively light, but they want us to be able to haul 48k...out west that much weight will really drag our ### down. And that is IF they allow us to stay at 70 mph once it is all said and done. And that is also if they keep the pay the same. Cheaper freight means less profit... they're already cutting the sign-on/referral bonus back from $5000 to $1500.
