Possibly, you could call Scott directly and offer. There’s a good chance you’re not the only truck they are coming in for. Working a half day on Saturday used to be pretty common.

Looks like the cab of his truck is a hardhat safety zone.

Well, another load, yet another surprise. Turns out the tractor I was picking up in Broken Bow, OK needed ramps to load. Thankfully the guys there have friendly neighbors right down the street that have a flatbed company with an old dock in the back of their property. And when I say the back of their property, I mean behind all their decked flatbeds and near their junk wrecked trucks.

And I am not picking up a skid steer in Wichita, I am picking up a scissor lift, and Scott said No Bueno to us loading our own (skid steers). And, things have changed. I had my trip to Arlington all planned and now they have added a stop. I was gonna pick up in Wichita tomorrow morning, deliver in Casper on Monday, then deliver in Arlington Tuesday afternoon. They waited until 16:45 to add a stop in St.Joseph, MO that doesn't load until Monday morning, but they want the equipment from Wichita in Casper Monday(715 miles from St.Joe). Then they want the stuff I pick up in St. Joe in Monroe, WA Tuesday (1100 miles). No friggin way, José. I will however get a 34 in between Wichita and St. Joseph... Planners here must be scrambling for anything they can get. This is the most LTL of a load I have had here...the St. Joseph pu says small boxes, need small tarp, might fit in the cab...but says 12,000 lbs... Not my cab, I barely have room for the 3 amigos belongings (the 3 amigos are me, myself and I)

Monroe is 1800 miles away from st Joe. I wonder if you’re actually going to snohmish wa? I’ve delivered to this guy a few times. We pick up all his action finds, usually junk. IMG_5631.jpeg IMG_2941.jpeg This dozer was actually pretty sweet, fired right up with new batteries IMG_2162.jpeg IMG_2158.jpeg loaded this ######## in the back of a neighborhood at an abandoned house. Waited all weekend, for no reason, to load the piece. IMG_2866.jpeg This hunk of #### barely ran, didn’t steer at all, and was 6k pounds heavier than it was supposed to be. They tried to move it to a lighter trailer in Wichita and it died right in the middle of the yard. They had to bring in a mechanic to get it running.

The St. Joe pickup is Perka Building Frames...the way the updated load info reads, it almost sounds like hardware instead of the actual frames themselves.

Probably not the same guy then. He would never buy anything new. Maybe he bought some used nuts and bolts. Haha.

I just looked the delivery address up... it's a house in a small residential area

Who are we now, JB Hunt, final mile or UPS? I didn't think the Yellow/Roadway closure would generate any freight for us...who knew?

Oh, and it got down right toasty in OK today

That squiggly line before the 109° temp is the heat index or the 'feels like' temp.

Got loaded this morning. After rereading my load info, I determined that I was picking up more than just small boxes that needed tarped or could fit in my cab. It gave a freight size that required 22' of deck space. I ended picking up trusses, roof supports, steel roof and support beams for a structure along with those boxes...it was only the boxes that needed protection from the elements. The boxes ended up all fitting in the cab of the tractor I am delivering last.

And what a difference a couple days (and 800 miles west) make. In OK, it didn't get out of the 80's at night....here at the TA east of Cheyenne, it is in the low 50's... didn't even have to start the APU except to cook dinner last night. Which is good, the other night in St. Joe, before going to bed, it popped the main 20a fuse inside the case for some reason and I had no power out of the generator side of the unit.
