I reread my former dispatcher's message...it wasn't his choice to do this, so I mis-spoke, he said our safety director made the decision to restrict the car after seeing the dent(s). Perhaps our safety director needs new glasses...those dents have been there quite a while...I guess he must only look at the car once a year if it took that long for him to notice.

 

If you do, you're hired as our new maintenance manager ...at Creaffer, you would be going to defensive driving class for allowing your tire to blow like that and bending the mudflap bracket

Now I am picking up a container on a new step deck, loading in Everett and taking it to Norfolk. Taking a whopping 7500 lb load(plus the weight of the sea can) on a 3000+ mile joy ride.

 

It ended up being a scissor lift instead of a skid steer. It looked to me like it was one that was delivered to an incorrect location then brought back to Wichita until they could find someone going thru Casper to deliver to the right place. Scott put it on the upper deck so I had room for the all the building components.

I spoke to one of the wing fleet guys who is leaving SPD to buy his own truck. He said to talk to Bridgit and Scott about working my way up to doing that....I told him no thanks, I doubt I would ever be comfortable pulling something as costly to replace as a wing if I F'd it up...I think I will just stick to regular OD opportunities.

Good luck with that heavy arse load with a regular spec'd OTR truck, especially one as under powered as those PACCAR motors are.

 

I live loaded the stuff into this container at the Boeing campus in Everett. The overhead picture they have on the wall to give you directions shows how HUGE this facility is. The lady at the truck gate says that place takes up 5.5 square miles of real estate. They should have their own zip code, there are small towns in my area that are smaller than that.

 

Dang....that's a lot of real estate. They must need their own police precinct and their own on-site fire and rescue personnel.
