I reread my former dispatcher's message...it wasn't his choice to do this, so I mis-spoke, he said our safety director made the decision to restrict the car after seeing the dent(s). Perhaps our safety director needs new glasses...those dents have been there quite a while...I guess he must only look at the car once a year if it took that long for him to notice.

Single it out and keep going! Thought I was going to have to do that to the one I plugged today. Took two if the big plugs and it’s right on the sidewalk/tread intersection. Not really. It doesn’t seem to do it as often if I remember to wait 10 seconds after I turn the ignition on to start the truck. It probably did it 5 times yesterday.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

I delivered to Cat in Kamloops this morning. We are clearly in the wrong business, that freaking place is brand new and huge! 28 bay shop.
Well I guess it’s my turn to take a screwing. I’m loading a 66k pound Marine winch in Seattle. On Tuesday. Possibly on a stretch step with 17.5” tires. That should put me at 106-7k gross. About the max we can permit is 111k if we have to go through a 20k axle state.
Last time I loaded 53k on a three axle stretch step we blew 3 tires between BC and TN. Those 17.5’s are not great. I’ll try to run in darkness/early morning as much as possible.

It ended up being a scissor lift instead of a skid steer. It looked to me like it was one that was delivered to an incorrect location then brought back to Wichita until they could find someone going thru Casper to deliver to the right place. Scott put it on the upper deck so I had room for the all the building components.
I spoke to one of the wing fleet guys who is leaving SPD to buy his own truck. He said to talk to Bridgit and Scott about working my way up to doing that....I told him no thanks, I doubt I would ever be comfortable pulling something as costly to replace as a wing if I F'd it up...I think I will just stick to regular OD opportunities.
Good luck with that heavy arse load with a regular spec'd OTR truck, especially one as under powered as those PACCAR motors are.Last edited: Aug 12, 2023

I live loaded the stuff into this container at the Boeing campus in Everett. The overhead picture they have on the wall to give you directions shows how HUGE this facility is. The lady at the truck gate says that place takes up 5.5 square miles of real estate. They should have their own zip code, there are small towns in my area that are smaller than that.
