Rant time!!!
This is in no way a dig at SPD, it is a bitter rant about the Reitnouer trailers they're buying. I got assigned one of the new step decks for this container load. What half-tard engineer decided to put the winches for the upper deck UNDER the deck, and are virtually un-movable, as in only an inch or so of forward/backward movement, if the slide isn't completely gunked with mud or road grime because they put them directly over the drive tires, I will hate to see how unuseable they are in winter..(and if that offends any half-tards, I apologize for comparing them to you, I lack the vocabulary to come up with a more fitting comparison)...second, these stupid things
The strap hook adapter plates....totally useless. But, because they have those on these trailers, they didn't put on the flat aluminum rail under the trailer to hook the strap hook to. These also are a collector of mud and road gunk so it makes it a pain to hook to unless you bring a long screwdriver with you to chip all the crap out from the backside...there is a reason drivers are using that little mini-bar on them to hook the strap to(that breaks off)... also, the deck arch is so pronounced on these that if your load is over 8' high, you either need the J-plates or longer straps to strap it down if it isn't heavy enough to flatten the trailer out. My standard length company issued straps wouldn't even get TO the winch, let alone get enough wound overlap to properly secure an 8' high container. It is sitting on a 4x4 on the front and back so the #### thing sits flat, but the middle is on the deck. I hope they aren't buying this brand exclusively and have ordered some from other manufacturers, Reitnouer trailers blow!!!!
Rant over!!!dwells40 Thanks this. -
Theres the ssb rants we have all grown to love
motocross25, RussianBearTruckeR, Old_n_gray and 2 others Thank this. -
Why not just use the rubrail? I agree the strap hook deals are goofy, that’s why I don’t use them. We only ordered around 200 Ritts so I’d get used to them.ncmickey, dwells40, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this.

With the arch, even the rubrail leave you short for the 1st and last 4 feet. Dan 'the yard guru' was even complaining about it. He loaded the container on an empty trailer before they were assigned to us, he needed to put a couple straps on it so he could park them, and had to go get 2 J-plates just to put 2 straps on it. Didn't they warn us on the forum about something on these to be careful hooking to because they only welded 1/2 of whatever it was? (and it was before they said anything about those strap plate adapters getting broke hooking it to the little bar instead of the plate itself.dwells40 Thanks this.
