Even with yesterday's confuion about the delivery location, I still was able to get both of my remaining stops off today. And this was even with the road to my final stop being closed for a R x R crossing replacement. The detour took me way out and around. Now I am headed to Dallas to pick up an elevator load headed to Everett, WA for Monday...if I don't pass out from heat stroke.
dwells40, Dale thompson, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -

Wasn’t me, I hit the hump crossings fast enough to skate across, I don’t think I would have tried that one though.
unloaded, put all my toys away, chained the flip up. Heading to Dallas also, to load a wing for Canada at some point.Lonesome, Winnyf1, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Have I posted lately how much I hate elevator loads? Yesterday, Arlington called to check to make sure I could make today's noon appointment to pick up this #### elevator load...I got here at 11:15, checked in, and I am still sitting in the parking lot waiting to be given a door to load. As far as I am concerned, we can lose both elevator accounts, I would rather sit for days than haul elevators.

Woth your luck you keep ranting about elevators and that will be your gig for the rest of the year
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
Well, it is officially "stupid" hot. Was 108° sitting loading yesterday. I secured, and they said I could stay backed in the building to tarp...yeah, right...no frigging air was moving inside the building. By the time I got in, loaded, reloaded(pulling a step deck makes loading elevators trickey, so he had to keep moving stuff to fit it all on)...then strap it down, it was after 17:00. He tossed the tarps up on top of the load and I pulled out to where they said we could park overnight...and I waited for the sun to go behind the building before I tarped the load. When I woke up at 0430 this morning, the truck's thermometer said it was still 91°....holy ####. I don't think I've been below 80° (day or night) in almost a week. The PNW will feel sooooo good, can't wait to get there!!!!!
, partly because it's much cooler, partly because I have gone thru 2 pairs of clothes per day on the last 2 loads...I need to either do laundry or start storing my rancid clothes out on the back deck(that's the closest emoji I could find to sweating my ### off)
