Yeah, it makes you wait something like 48 hours before letting you DIY thru the app. As forgetful as I am, it would slip my mind and I would lose out. The Flying Peelot lets you do it immediately...
Speaking of which, since Love's hasn't invaded Canada yet, when they send you into Canuckland, do they just unlock your card so you can hit one of the FJ locations, or do you have to fill in the US and can make the round trip?

Not a productive day today. Got up early with the intention of getting to Arlington, getting the stuff the shop was supposed to have waiting for me, drop and hook to my OD load and get back into OR before shutting down. Got to the yard and the shop didn't get my stuff ready before they went home on Friday. Then, the OD load that was supposed to be ready was there, and there were these black, cheesecloth things resembling tarps on the thing...sorta. With fresh tears in them and bungee cords that looked like they would fall apart hanging there without any tension...and it only has 4 4" straps and 2 chains on it. Inside, the back tarp was drooping so far down it was more of a rain chute than a tarp. And the front tarp just barely covers over it. Plus, there is a thin sheet metal shield on the side of this thing that I can shake with my hand, and it was supporting part of the tarp. So, it took me about 4 hours to get the shield removed and stored, the inner part of the one tarp supported inside, plastic over any electrical boxes, tarp patched as best as I could, and the tarp roped down because I was instructed to leave the elevator load tarped and secured...which has ALL of my bungees on it...plus 18 4" straps(some with ratches), 5 2" straps, plus 2 good tarps, and a moving blanket...I think I got screwed on the equipment swap this time. So, if they need me to load and tarp a load... they're gonna have to buy me some equipment at retail price...all because the personnel in Arlington can't do there mother ####ing job. I swear that shop is as worthless as Poly's when Mike 'The ####tard' Hyatt was running it.
Oh, and when I went to print out my permits, my printer ran out of black ink...so, I had to go in and log on the company computer and print them off the network printer...and that system is as slow as a snail...and, they haven't gotten me my AZ permit yet...so I will have to find a Wally that can fit an 11' wide load so I can by more ink so I can print that out when it comes in (and this black cartridge was an XL size cartridge, so I have done a lot of permit printing in the last few months)Last edited: Aug 27, 2023

The wife sent me a txt a little while ago...."we're screwed, Jim Cantore just landed at the Gainesville airport" ....that means this hurricane coming in will be hitting in our area.
hope not dumb twucker, JoeyJunk, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m watching the models @supersnackbar and wouldn’t be surprised if it goes in tampa or south, it has a bit of an easterly turn with each move north. I’m in Ocala so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it as well, tomorrow should give us a good idea of where it’s headed after it clears Cuba.

This is truely the load from hell!!!!! Tarp patches started coming loose all day yesterday. Then this mornimg, about 20 minutes from Twin Falls, ID, the front tarp split in half from one loose patch to another.
And I am affraid to move it far because I don't want it whipping around damaging the machine, and I don't have anything I can really use to secure it because the shop didn't leave me any gear. Truely one of the most frustrating loads I have ever hadJoeyJunk Thanks this. -
And, I just found out my new fleet manager is coming back over the road as a driver. Friday will be his last day behind a desk. So now I'll get another dispatcher starting next week. This tour of duty has probably been one of my worst since starting here, I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come in our near future.

Spoke to breakdown about this tarp (figured he would have more luck finding equipment than dispatch). He told me the reason I didn't get my equipment from the shop was I sent in a message at 17:30 on a Friday. When I told him that the message was sent at 13:30 (logbook time), he said they didn't get it until 17:30...so it the Peoplenet system's fault. He told me to go ahead and cut off the bad section of tarp and stow it until I can dispose of it, then ease to the Flying J in Twin Falls. There is a driver on his break in Boise, once he is done, he is gonna drop off his tarps so I can retarp this frigging load (in 105° afternoon heat - and wind). He also said to bobtail to Fleetpride in Twin Falls and he had them set aside 2 boxes of bungies and some 2" straps for me...so now I gotta get busy securing carpet around some sharp edges of this machine. The previous driver had carpet in it, but nothing but good luck holding it in place...
