Still looks like I’m going to have trouble loading 48k with full tanks. Considering ditching some rarely used gear And a 25x30 lumber tarp. But I still need to get a set of tire chains, so it will probably be a wash. It’s crazy to think about all the money they spent on new trucks and trailers so they could scale 48k, and we still can’t

I’m only a few hundred less on my dump set up, wasn’t pumped when I got the anthem with the APU because I end up losing money over the course of the year, but like everything else in life it seems, I just got used to it. Your new KW is sharp though so that’s a plus.
Oxbow, motocross25 and kylefitzy Thank this. -
Maybe next years trucks are going to be red 579 mid-roofs with a scrolled white logo.Lonesome Thanks this. -

Today loading was a circus. Nice people, and they stayed with it...all day. They loaded me 1st, got it adequately secured to move so they could start loading the next truck. They didn't have b/l at first, then the lady in the office produced the item list they were loading. After adding up all the numbers, they discovered that they had put 52,000 on my trailer...so, unsecure it in the street and put some of it on the other truck, and the rest has to go on a 3rd truck. We were both parient and pleasant, and in the long run, it may end up getting us some additional OD business. They have a bunch of oversized tanks ready to ship just laying there on their side. Not long runs like these, but decent runs. And I can't count the number of times they thanked us for our patience thru this.

Dang glad I got my FL DOT permission slip to spread my 53' stepdeck's axles a few months ago(although for FL I didn't have to spread them, but I wanted to get them spread out before I left the state)

Well I’m still trying to decide if I’m taking a ####ing on this deal or not. When I got my last load picking up Thursday delivering Friday in VA I voiced mic concerns about getting stuck down here over the weekend. I was assured there are several of our customers that load on Saturday.
Fast forward to my 8am pinpoint pick up, I get there around 730 and check in with the customer. Super friendly people at a secure facility, offered coffee/snacks/restroom ect. Load is sitting on the dock next to the rigging crews forklift ready to go. 9 am comes and goes, so I go to see what’s up and they tell me the riggers will be here at 1330 to load you. WHAT!?
apparently one piece was not crated due to the wrong crate being sent over the previous day. Between the 5 different companies involved, that info never made it to us. Got loaded and tarped and headed out. Ran like the dickens to make it out to VA before they closed 4 hours early because there’s a tropical storm coming.
Just as I suspected, I’m stuck over the weekend. Heading 500 miles south to get a stretch rgn to load in savanna on Monday. Picking up a legal load heading to northern Massachusetts. Then loading a container after that heading to WA.
Not nearly as busy as I want to be but these containers are my bread and butter and I’m the only one out here right now. Was hoping to pick up a decent load over the weekend and maybe deliver one more before the end of the month on Friday.
As it stand now I’ll have just over 12k miles for the month. Not bad, but under my expectations for staying out the entire month. Maybe I need to reevaluate my expectations.DragginmyFeet, Lonesome, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.
