The last 3 days, 701 mi, 685 mi, 700 mi.

Saw my 1st sub freezing temps today. West of Rawlins, the truck's LCD screen drove me nuts. But it did show one 30° temp in one of the dips coming across WY before sunrise.

I checked with my consignee today, they will indeed have someone there to unload me tomorrow morning, so 3075 miles in 4.5 days with a tail heavy load across the mountain west. So much for slackin off...

 

I get out of the truck plenty, especially on a steel plate load like I just had...load check, load check, load check. Plus all the walking I did loading, securing, then unsecuring so they could remove some of the freight, then resecuring.

 

Finally told to head to Arlington this morning. But by the time I got around to leaving, it was late enough to hit the early stages of Seattle afternoon traffic. By the time I got to the yard, it was after the shop closed so I didn't get the thrill of going thru the inspection bay...Ohh darn . I was told by my travel agent that they have something in mind for me, but I haven't seen anything, so hopefully it isn't another one of those oversized loads that gets cancelled out from under me at the last second, then they have to scramble to find something else. There are an awful lot of trucks up here.

 

You pick the big can up in NJ? If I am not routed across the GW because of an OD load or having to deliver in the area and that is the only route, I go around it. I detest that god forsaken ring of Hell. They should put up a sign like this at the toll booth instead of the Welcome to NY
