I parked so I could just pull straight out....now, it took me 20 minutes waiting to manage to get a break in fuel island traffic to get backed in.

Ya know, rules are rules. We will see, my understanding is it’s pretty automated.

speaking of getting blocked in, I almost hosed myself the other night. I like to park next to dropped trailers or on the edge of the parking lot. Pulling this long ### trailer, you have to pick your spots carefully. I backed in next to a mobile home and went to bed. I’m front of me was a single row of pull through spots. When I woke up around 4am they were pulled up about 15’ closer to my row compared to the trucks behind them. Luckily one spot down was empty and I bobbed and weaved my way out.

My first 2-fer month. I actually washed the truck twice this month, first time I have used both allowable monthly washes since I started. After that winter crap in TX and NM my truck had a brown tint to it. So, before I went into Cali, I had it all cleaned off

Well duh, the CHP would have fined you for importing foreign dirt into their country.

I thought everything foreign was welcome in Cali...I guess I could get away with it if I tell them it was Mexican dirt seeking asylum...but then they would look at my license and see I am from FL and think Desantis sent it.:biggrin_2559:

After I drop these ingots off this morning I pick up in Santa Fe Springs going to Park City again. But this time it appears to be raw material instead of racks. I will only have a few hours in my 70 once I deliver, and because I am only getting back 6's tonite and tomorrow night, I won't be delivering until Friday, so hopefully they can either get something preloaded for me and drop at the yard or have a load I can pick up after noon.

Got unloaded then a short hop over to my next shipper and reloaded, then made it back to Barstow for the night. Most of the loads I have seen coming out of Santa Fe Springs have been pretty symmetrical, which makes tarping fairly easy. Not this load, but like an old trooper, I managed. I have to say, my tarps have been looking more professional, but my speed hasn't improved much. In fact, one of the local drivers asked if I was related to molasses (jokingly). I just said that after all the Wylie b.s. that has happened, and this nagging in my gut about more to come, I have lost some of the enthusiasm about this job. I still knocked down a good month, but it's a struggle to remain my usual jovial self.

Not sure if I pissed @The Block Robert off. Usually when I am out here, he calls me direct rather than going thru my fleet manager. But I have pulled a fair number of loads out of SoCal lately, and not a peep. I checked with the local guy and he said he still works here (with the way Arlington communicates things like people not with the company any more, I was beginning to wonder)...guess he's just been busy.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. We had a retired jarhead working for us who liked to race through his tarp jobs, after the second fall off the deck he finally learned the lesson.
