I did once. But changing those broken tracks by yourself is a major pain in the rear.......

But, what’s sad hauling grain in some parts of the country pays more than hauling gas and fuel!

Top secret load, can’t show what’s being hauled or where I’m going. But I don’t see the harm is showing the load after it’s tarped. (Just kidding, it’s airplane parts) IMG_6095.jpeg

If there was any doubt we're destined to end up being fully "Wylie-ized", a message came from our breakdown guy yesterday that should put any doubts to rest. He is going to be out of the office for a while, and we are to call the regular breakdown number and either our shop manager or someone named Wayne from WYLIE will handle our call...

    Bumper Thanks this.

My unload and reload didn't go too smooth yesterday. 1st off, I was sent to the wrong location. The b/l and load info said to deliver at the customers northern warehouse. I get to the warehouse, and there are no trucks waiting in line (clue #1), and only 1 car at the office door (clue #2). I decide to pull my tarps, but check with the office before unstrapping. While trying to fold my tarps in the wind, the one guy who was in the office comes out to inform me I am in the wrong place. I show him the bills and he goes in and checks and comes back out with an email appointment confirmation sent to SPD days ago that says what time to deliver, and a clear message that says to deliver to the other location, but nobody sent me the update. This email was sent to our planning manager and my fleet manager, and neither sent me the update. Fortunately I had gotten there early and still had time to get ny tarps rolled up and stowed and make my appointment at the other location. And to be fair, I should have realized that I should be at the 2nd location based in the appointment time. The 1st location closes at 14:00 and my appointment was 14:30, and I have had this same situation happen before, and didn't learn my lesson.

I get to my 2nd location and get unloaded. However, I got done at 15:10, shipping closes at 15:00. I try to check in because there's 2 SPD trucks being loaded. Shipping tells me I am too late. I message my travel agent and he messages the proper person in Arlington. Next thing I know, the shipping manager comes out and tells me to take the the next open spot when one of the other SPD trucks pulls out. (He wasn't in the office when I tried to check in). He says it's only 13 pieces and they'll have me loaded before I get my straps out of the box. The forklift guy tells me that they needed to load me to make room for Monday's freight staging because they have a large number of trucks to load then. So, I finally got loaded and tarped and managed to make it out of KS before my Elog coach turned into a punkin.

And, the other SPD driver there and I were talking, and the topic of my trucks mysterious air leak came up. He said he has good hearing and had me build air pressure and he managed to hear my air leak. It took me taking my side fairing off and he crawled under my truck and located my airleak...this thing on the back side of my transmission has a fitting leaking. I would have never discovered it because he went under the truck at the air tanks, and he barely fit, and he was a skinny guy, and I am a chubster, so I wouldn't have fit under there. However, it appears that the thing is accessible from the top by removing the access plate around the shifter lever...so it's fixable.

@kylefitzy, when putting in for a week of vacation (paid), does SPD make you fill out a PTO leave form? Just checking because that's what my new travel agent sent me and I want to make sure he is doing it right. I am planning on taking the week between Christmas and New Years off and have vacation time available

Was it the older fella who kind of shuffles when he walks? I have an air leak in this new truck that I can’t find.

that customer has very limited space, even though their buildings are HUGE. That’s why our locals pickup multiple times a day there
Only if you want to get paid for your vacation. Also if you quit or get fired, they won’t pay out vacation pay. Or so I’ve heard. I cash all of mine out as soon as it’s available. So if a guy was planning on quitting, he would be wise to cash out all PTO at least before his last paycheck.
