The shipper called me at 18:35 saying the load will be coming across the border within an hour. I told him since it's an OD load, it was already past curfew, so I can't pick it up until morning. And before my travel agent went home, I already told him that this delay getting the load and any holiday curfews I have to deal with, I doubt I make delivery Monday. And the way I am feeling right now, I am so far beyond giving a flying fornication, giving a crap and I aren't even in the same solar system.

An interesting overview of what's going on at our biggest customer.

Yeah Boeing started downhill when they went away from having experienced engineers migrate to leadership. So many dumb decisions have been made trying to maximize profit…such a shame for what was a world class company. Fortunately for them Airbus can’t supply the global demand for aircraft, so hopefully they will in time turn it around.

I just came off an 11’9” load to WV, thankfully it was a high $ load because with slowing freight and they holiday they’re having a heck of a time finding me anything to keep me moving…

I’ve been saying for a while now that you would make more on mileage than the daily rate plan. Your fm ran the numbers and said the same thing. I would assume he ran all the number and didn’t use just part of the plan, that wouldn’t make sense. You should run the numbers yourself, but if you’re grossing more, that’s a raise, right?

I don’t care how they breakdown my pay, as long as I gross 10k a month.
just fyi if you are getting the 9’6” wides you can run at night all the way to LA/tx line. I also don’t think you will have any holiday restrictions out west at that size.

It was our VP that called me and he made it sound like I would be making a lot more...but that's true if I never go home. Pretty much losing 1/2 my tarp pay and ALL of my SAFETY/performance bonus every other month, along with part of it on other months I might break even. Maybe you like working your ### off tarping this stuff for peanuts, but when most companies pay a lot more for that than what they do here, it's an insult to have to do that job for their pay rate.

According to the picture of the load sheet the shipper sent me, I am picking up 4 - 9'10"(118") pieces. According to the AZ permit for the load I brought out, all OD loads are prohibited in AZ from noon today until Friday morning. Cali says off the road by 4 pm today. So, depending on how long it takes to load, secure and flag/sign things, I might not be able to enter AZ until Friday since they're on mountain time now.

And with this ######## about pay changes, I slept about 4 hours last night, and to be honest, I ain't killing myself to make Wylie richer...and I am having a hard time telling where the line where SPD ends and We-lie begins. About the only difference I see between the two companies is the logo on the door.

This load is turning into a total #### show. @kylefitzy, you are correct, no restrictions in AZ, however NM doesn't allow any OD movement on St. Glutten's Day, so I had to stop before crossing the NM border and can't roll out until just before sunrise on Friday. I haven't gotten my permits past MS, but my travel agent looked, and AL doesn't allow OD movement from Wednesday until MONDAY morning (he said subject to change, but since I don't have my permit, I can't verify). He sent a message to the permit guy asking if I could be routed around AL so I can roll all weekend, but never heard either way. If I have to wait, that will be 3 34’s on this #### load...and one can only imagine my mood if that happens. I am taking these last two days as a hint to start getting serious about getting on with some other company, and it #### sure won't be a Daseke company or another company that could possibly be partnered with Wylie. The last couple months have proven to me that going to open deck was another huge mistake on my part, especially one affiliated with Daseke.

Why are you not dealing with the permit technician directly? Fm’s don’t know a dang thing about permits. Al only restriction is on thanksgiving day and Sunday like normal. IMG_6195.png

Well I’m at the house since yesterday afternoon. Unloaded my stretch tarped load in Tulsa, $100 for 4 tarps. Bounced to Wichita and grabbed the wing teams “special” flat conastoga and I’ll load in sd for wa on Monday. This trailers been highly modified to fit 53’ long carts. By highly modified I mean we cut out the chain racks on the front bulkhead that never should have been there to begin with.

should put me between 11 and 12k for
The month with 5 days at home.

With this delay getting my load, I need to run in AL on Sunday (with NM's holiday restrictions, I won't get there before then)...and this load is supposed to be delivered in SC by Monday. Without being able to cross AL on Sunday, there is no #### way I deliver Monday. Besides, I have received no AL or GA permits, and with most states, the permit office is likely closed thru the weekend, (along with our permit guy being off) so I probably won't even get my necessary permits until Monday morning anyway.

With the performance bonus being calculated in the new pay package the way I was told, I need miles and the little extra these OD loads pay, it doesn't make up for the loss of production... I should never have asked to go back on the OD board...told my FM when he comes in on Monday to message whomever he needs to, to remove me from the OD board permanently. I have lost all desire to do anything other than legal freight, and I am rapidly losing interest in open deck in general

I finally got the new pay package. Performance bonus tiers start at 8900 miles and go up $.01/1000 miles, but max out at $.04. so on months where I take hometime, I lose $.05/mile. On my average month, I will only make $0.02 or $0.03 bonus...even if I max out the mileage, I still lose $0.01/mile compared to my current plan, and I take a 50% cut in tarp pay. Basically it will be a wash with the increase in CPM(which is 55 cpm and 10 cpm per diem) I won't make any better gross getting forced onto this plan, but I won't make any less. The Veep made it sound like I was being grossly under paid on the daily rate plan...so I guess I will still be grossly under paid on their new plan. It's nothing but smoke and mirrors and slight of hand and a bunch of rah-rah cheer leading to keep our morale up and make drivers feel like they care when in the end it's the SOSDD...Wylie did the same crap when they were destroying Moore, and I don't know why it surprised me when they are doing it here.
