I didn't think that any of these still existed. I remember the days when you had to carry change, call dispatch or the customer. It went downhill when they gave me a pager then had to find a phone to call in.

 

And when they went from 10 to 25 cents.
Those and your CB were the communication lifelines.

 

Remember the pay toilets in airports? Yikes

 

And they had no caller ID, and your voicemail was this machine that had a mini cassette tape you had to rewind to replay the message

I'm right there with you. The first cordless phone my parents had, you had a foot long antenna you had to pull out in order to walk to the next room.

 

Or a crank!

 

Just printed out my TX permit. Even though I am under 10' wide, they still routed me thru the sticks around Sweetwater.

 

You know a person is really old if they can remember both their phone and their car needing a crank to get it to work
