To be fair, that’s the new new truck prep area. We dont currently have a tarp repair guy so they have taken over that area.

they put the new camera system in my truck today. And topped off all my fluids and spare bottles.

I guess I’m loading lavatories in the morning, not seats. Unfortunately snowqualmi is supposed possibly to get 2’ of snow by tomorrow, so that could be interesting with only a few thousand pounds on the deck.

What happened to the tarp repair guy...he was killing it, it was nice to have ample tarps ready to go when you needed one.

Looks like the southern route for you my friend :mconfused:

Have you heard if they are they planning on an accelerated removal of heavy trucks like mine as part of operation weight loss?

I haven’t heard anything, with the departure of Travis I no longer have much contact with management.
I doubt they would sell off trucks before 4 to 500k. If I were them I would take a list of trucks, sort by mileage, and the highest mileage gets replaced.

we are seeing a lot about new trucks but we have always replaced 40-50 trucks per year. These just are all happening in the last 5-6 months due to delivery issues. It will calm down eventually.

As anxious as they are for us to haul heavier loads, I figured they'd pull the Volvos off the road and sell them. Before Robert got the OD load out of Calexico last week he had another load in mind but my truck was to heavy. I thought it might have been one of the new accounts we recently got and with me being in SoCal so much they might try to move me into one of those lighter trucks. I am not a huge fan of Volvo, but this truck has some features I like, and it's really good in slick conditions...plus it's a manual. And it seems, for now, to be relatively reliable, especially now that I've fixed it's biggest air leak.

What can you scale with one of the new 53’ flats? I can only scale just over 47 with full tanks. I don’t think these trucks or trailers are as light as they think. I do carry more then an average amount of gear.

The 1st 23xx I scaled I was 33,700, but was carrying only the minimum of chains and binders. After picking up my 1st Genie load, I added more of each along with a bunch of clevises along with some shorty chains...plus all my pading for TMX and elevator loads. I can probably put a little over 45k on the 23xx, but the 24xx with the extra tarp box maybe 45k if I watch my fuel level. And I am a hoarder as far as personal gear.

To illustrate how off I have been this year(mentally), I totally forgot that my CDL expires next month, so I get to renew it over the Christmas holiday, which means I go a tour without my Hazmat endorsement until the next time I am home since it takes up to 90 days for the background check. And one of my Christmas presents will be the $180 renewal fee for everything.

    dwells40 Thanks this.
